  1. Yes, I did forget. The $150 was referring to a new CPU, which I wasn't 100% sure would solve my issue, so I didn't want to pull the trigger on something that didn't matter.
  2. Moved the game from my 2TB HDD to a 500GB M.2 SSD and its been working completely fine for about 10-15 minutes!
  3. Finally was able to get a video of afterburner: You can see that it freezes around 8-9 seconds in and resumes a few seconds later, with a massive drop in CPU usage throughout the entire CPU. Please let me know if you still think this a CPU issue, as I am not looking to shell out more than $150 on a solution that wont fix my issue. Thanks!
  4. Unable to get to microcenter within the next few days, and the deal will be done by then. Should I go for the 5700x on Newegg for 160?
  5. Thanks for the info, I set the preset to default and it gave me 97%-99% GPU usage. I put up all CPU cores, GPU, RAM, VRAM, and more with afterburner, and I was getting around 50-70% CPU usage per core when running around, and when I got into combat or entered a new area I'm hitting 80%-95%. Additionally, when the screen freezes, the CPU usage across the cores drops to 2%-15%. Notably, when the audio cuts out (arguably more annoying than the freezing itself), the CPU usage is unchanged. As for a new CPU, I'd rather not buy a $300 CPU at the moment... the 5800x has some great deals ~180 (at microcenter...only one in stock, likely will not be able to get my hands on that), would that be a good investment? EDIT: Newegg has a 5700x for 180, is that worth it?
  6. Hi, I recently downloaded Starfield using PC gamepass and its been fun. However, my screen is constantly freezing, my audio is cutting out, and it overall is ruining the experience of the game. My in game settings are all set to the LOW preset, and I am normally getting ~145 FPS, until it freezing every other minute. My GPU is less than 70% load and ~50C, my CPU is ~70% usage and ~50C. I have 16GB of RAM and less than 11GB is being used. All of this info is gathered from MSI afterburner. Specs are as follows: R5 3600 3060ti FE Asus gaming B550-a 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz Crucial Balstix 850W PSU Corsair 240mm AIO I really would love to play this game without the annoying stopping and audio cutting out. Any ideas?
  7. I hope I'm posting this in the right place... Hi all, for context I used to be pretty active on the forum for a while, but slowed down due to personal reasons. Anyway... I am now in a place where my build is looking pretty nice, if I do say so myself. The setup may seem like I'm sacrificing some performance for aesthetics, but it does everything it needs to do for my needs. Specs are listed below, along with a picture. I'm planning on making some upgrades soon, but if you have any suggestions, please let me know! CPU Ryzen 5 3600 (Planning on upgrading to a 5600x soon, thoughts?) Cooler Corsair iCUE H100i RGB ELITE MOBO Asus ROG B550-A Gaming RAM Crucial Balistix RGB 16GB 3200Mhz (Planning on grabbing some 32GB Corsair RGB RAM on Black Friday) Storage 256GB M.2 NVME SSD 500GB M.2 NVME SSD 2TB HDD (7200rpm) GPU Nvidia 3060ti Founders Edition (Proud of this - got it right as it came out from BestBuy during one of those random drops Case Lian Li O11 Mini White PSU Lian Li SP850 Fans Corsair iCUE QL120 (9 of them, I know its stupid but they look nice) Peripherals DROP CTRL Glorious Model O Wireless (I use a magnetic USB C Cable to charge it) Glorious Mousepad Monitor Asus VG249Q Stand arm from Amazon Other Stuff Macbook for work w/ stand Airpods Little lego guy for fun Autonomous standing desk Chair from Staples I'm pretty sure I've mentioned everything involved. 8. Hi all, Just installed the 2.01 update for Cybperunk 2077 on Steam, and when I go to run it, it gives me a BSOD. The PC then restarts and shows me the American Megatrends screen and tells me that the CPU overheated. I've tried starting the game multiple times and even tried turning up my fan speed. I've also checked my CPU temp as I'm loading into Cyberpunk, and it's ~90C. My specs are: CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard ASUS ROG STRIX-B550-A RAM Crucial Ballistix 16GB 3200 GPU RTX 3060 Ti FE Case Lian Li o11 mini Storage 256GB M.2 SSD / 500GB M.2 SSD / 2TB Hard Drive PSU Seasonic SGX650 Cooling ASUS ROG STRIX LC240 White Let me know if there is anything I can do. Also, I will be away from my PC for a few hours, so hopefully the CPU may be able to cool down until I'm back. Thanks!
  9. Ok so I got into BIOS fine. Then somehow I was able to boot into windows. And then for whatever reason the computer wasn't picking up my GPU (3060ti) so I fumbled around with the power cords and PCIe riser, and I was able to successfully boot into windows and install drivers and a few apps. As of now, I'm calling it that the original problem was because of something with the BIOS and the blue/black screen problem and boot problem when windows was installed was because of the PCIe riser. Thanks, everyone, for all of your help.
  10. What should I do after this, assuming I can get into the BIOS?
  11. UPDATE Windows got fully installed on my SSD! YAY I removed my HDD and updated the BIOS. HOWEVER: Now that Windows is installed, I was going through the motions, and installed chrome. It also automatically installed Armory Crate for ASUS. Then, it black screened. No error message, no nothing. Now I cant get back in. I boot up the PC, and when I see the ROG logo, the dots stop spinning and it freezes. Thoughts?
  12. This worked. I got the latest version of BIOS and it finished installing all the files needed for windows. When the PC rebooted to finish up installation, it blue screened and gave be the error: whea_uncorrectable_error.
  13. I got into the bios and reset it to factory settings, then went through the windows install process with a new copy of the the windows creation tool. When I got to the drive selection part, I formatted every available drive and partition. Then I went through and attempted to delete the recovery and MSR partitions and it gave me an error message that said it could not delete the partition. Thoughts?
  14. I will do this first. However, I cannot figure out how to boot a full copy of windows off the thumb drive, only the windows creation tool, which then prompts me to select a boot drive, and the only two possible options are my SSD and HDD. The SSD is an M.2 NVMe drive which previously had windows on it. During the installation, it gets ~10% done with allocating the files, and then fails. The HDD gets through the install process, and then self restarts as its supposed to, and then boots into a screen that tells me I don't have windows. Then I will do this. THANK YOU!!!
  15. Already have a thumb drive that I'm trying to boot off of, are you suggesting to fully install windows on the thumb drive instead of a HDD or SSD? Additionally, the only options it gives me when I try to install windows off the thumb drive is my SSD, HDD, or some MSR reserved drives.
  16. Hello!Forgot to mention that after this happened the first time a few months ago, I was instructed to run memtest and some other benchmarks and everything came back fine.
  17. Hey gang, I've been having some problems for a few months now, including constant blue screens during intense loads, boot problems, and a bunch of other software related info. My biggest problem is that windows decided that it would only boot into the startup options menu. Thankfully I was able to use the command prompt to return to windows and the problem did not occur again...until the next day! When I booted up my PC, it booted into the startup options once again, however this time no options would appear, literally just a blank blue screen. I decided to try a clean install of windows, and got the windows install softear on a 32GB thumb drive and went through the whole process, and I even formatted my original windows drive (basically the only thing on it was steam and windows). As soon as I start the install process, it gives me the error code: 0x800701b1 and tells me I don't have the files needed. I have re-tried this countless times and even tried installing windows on my HDD, which worked, but as soon as the PC restarted to complete the install, it would fail and tell me that the computer doesn't have windows. Additionally, I did get into windows twice, but as soon as I go to install any apps or even open the start menu, I get a blue screen and cant boot back into windows. My guess is that there is some sort of problem with the windows boot drive, so I ordered another one. In thew meantime, while I await the arrival of the new SSD, is there anything I can do, so that I can at least use my computer? THANK YOU P.S. I know the above paragraph might be confusing to read, so let me know if y'all have any questions!
  18. Just ran Kombustor for ~3 minutes and I got a BSOD with the same error message.
  19. Hello once again! I just finished running memtest86, and no problems occurred. I ran all three tests you suggested, and every one was passed. Do you have any other ideas? If not no worries and thanks for your time!
  20. Ok sounds good. Just ended the first test (still no errors) and started the second one. I was moving the mouse around and I can already tell the computer is slower and laggy. I will wait for any errors to show up but I have a feeling the RAM may be the culprit. I will still run the other memory test later, if no problems occur. Thank you so much for all of your help!
  21. I did choose the small FFTs option. Running for 50 minutes and no problems. The BSOD error was : WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR
  22. I should also mention that I have continually run intense games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Assassins Creed Valhalla, and Far Cry 6 on high settings with no/little problems. Another quick update: Prime95 is still running with no problems!
  23. Currently running Prime95, and as for Memtest86, I don't have a spare USB drive sitting around, but I can get one later today. So far, all of the threads have passed on the "torture test" in Prim95, and its been running for 10ish minutes now. Let me know if there is anything else I should do. Thanks!
  24. Hi, first time posting in awhile... Anyway, this weekend Red Dead Redemption 2 was on sale for only $20 USD, so I bought it off Steam. When it finished installing it prompted me to install the Rockstar Games Launcher, which I did. I'm about 45 minutes to an hour into the game and I keep blue screening, at this point it's happened more than 5 times. I've tried turning the graphics to the lowest quality and nothing seems to help. Additionally, I verified the game files on Steam and it was all there. My friend and I both bought the game this weekend off Steam, and he seems to have no trouble at all. (we have similar PCs, I have a few higher end parts such as GPU and CPU) Specs: Ryzen 5 3600 3060 Ti Founders Edition DDR4 RAM 16GB (8GBx2) 3600MHz Asus LC240 650 W PSU The game is installed on a 2TB Seagate HDD with plenty of space left. I can't think of anything else to mention here, but if anyone needs more information please ask! Thanks for the help!
