  1. I've recently upgraded to SSD, there definitely is a noticeable upgrade in performance. But...it's still pretty slow, to the point where emulating Nintendo 64 games is giving it trouble. As for how bad it runs Half Life 2...well, the framerate is never really consistent and sometimes stays at a decent 45 to 50 FPS, and then for no reason randomly drops to some 15 to 25 fps. I know that some parts of the game are more graphically demanding than others, but it happens without any rhyme or reason, even if all the settings are at low. Also, the game likes to do what Source engine games do whenever they load something and stutter. A lot. I've seen it happen to other people, but not NEARLY as bad as it does to my computer.
  2. My HP Pavilion 15-n028us currently has an AMD Radeon HD 8940, and it's so slow it makes me want to strangle myself. It can barely run Half Life 2, which is a 16 year old game that I more than meet the specs for. What should I upgrade the graphics processor to? Or should I just ditch it and get a new laptop?
  3. Never mind, I’m just stupid and installed the wrong drivers.
  4. Unfortunately, it appears that the drivers are the problem, as soon as I reinstalled them, the computer kept freezing up again.
  5. Used a DDU, everything is now working just fine. Thanks for the help!
  6. According to checking the S.M.A.R.T. status on command prompt, the HDD is ok.
  7. Ok, so yesterday I was doing sh*t on my laptop, you know, watching YouTube, playing Doom mods, stuff like that. Today, I woke up, booted up my laptop, and, for whatever reason, it just keeps freezing ever second and a half or so for two to three seconds. I tried updating my drivers, restarting, checking my BIOS, nothing has helped. So, can anyone here help me? It’s an HP Pavilion n028us, with 6 gigs of RAM, with around 5 and a half gigs unused, running on Windows 10.
