  1. Hey all, I'm an avid Apex Legends player, and have been looking to record some of my gameplay and post it to Youtube. I have an Aorus 3060 ti, a ryzen 7 3700x, 16GB of RAM, and am running the game off of a Samsung M.2 SSD. I play at 165Hz, and anything less than that feels unplayable (when not recording I stay pretty stable at 165 fps). I'm recording gameplay with Streamlabs OBS, and am using the x264 encoder with a 1080p base canvas resolution (my monitor res as well). While the recording looks smooth, the game itself feels beyond unplayable. I'm holding somewhat steady around 130fps (according to the in-game fps tracker), but I can tell that it is NOT running at that framerate. It stutters like crazy and almost feels worse than a consistent 60fps. I have an autoexec installed for Apex which takes the settings as low as they can possibly go so it's not like I'm trying to run on Ultra settings or anything. I figured that a 3060 ti would be more than enough when combined with my 7 3700x, but am I wrong? Do I just need more hardware power to properly record gameplay? My ping is at 30ms so I know it's not that, and my Drivers are all up to date. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to record while maintaining a consistent 165 fps? Let me know if I missed any important details that might help narrow down a solution...
  2. I updated my BIOS and problem is resolved. Thank you!
  3. I haven't updated it since I built the PC which was only last week so this might be the problem
  4. No I haven't overclocked at all. I don't intend to either as it runs at 4.3GHz which is plenty for me.
  5. The only connector that's not plugged in is the other 4-pin for CPU power as the motherboard has a total of 12 pins and I read that only 8 are necessary
  6. So I recently built my own PC with the following specs: - Ryzen 7 3700x - 16gb DDR4 3200MHz RAM - MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max Motherboard - Sapphire RX580 8gb - Seasonic 750w platinum - bequiet! Dark rock pro 4 CPU cooler - NZXT H510i Case - TP-link AC-1200 Wireless card It's been running very well, but it seems to be having a very strange problem. If I put it to sleep and don't wake it back up for a few hours, then it won't power back up at all. The power button on the top of the case will continue to flash and nothing wakes up. The only way I could get it back up and running was to hold down the power button and force it to shut down. After that, it powers back up just fine. I looked into it on Youtube and other forums and none of the tips given helped. The only other piece of information that I can give is that the msi X470 has four debug LEDs on the motherboard itself labeled: BOOT, VGA, DRAM, and CPU. The CPU light is solid red whenever this problem occurs. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on with it? Motherboard link: MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max
  7. Surprisingly I am still on the hunt for a power supply as the one I intended to buy went out of stock right before I went to buy it. How about the corsair cx650m? https://www.microcenter.com/product/460288/cx650m-650-watt-80-plus-bronze-atx-semi-modular-power-supply
  8. That looks like a good option! That looks like what I've been looking for!
  9. That's unfortunately over my budget. However, someone is selling a corsair rm750x for $100.
  10. It's out of stock on Corsair and Newegg. I can find all of these used, and I've heard that buying a used PSU isn't a bad option. Thoughts?
  11. Yeah that's the problem that I've been running into. Is buying used a viable option?
  12. ideally i'd prefer around $150. I've been looking at the corsair rm750x but it's out of stock everywhere.
  13. Ok thanks for the help! I initially had a 5 3600 in mind and a lower card but I upgraded both without realizing that my power supply would need it as well. Appreciate it!
