  1. I'm actually looking to play Fortnite at 1080p, competitive settings with an RTX 2080(the CPU will always be the bottleneck in this situation). I think going with at least 8 cores will be best for performance. I'll just get a 9700k, and OC it as much as I can with the Asus ROG Strix Z390e.
  2. I am looking for a good motherboard to overclock the 10700k. I have considered the Asus ROG Strix z490e, and the MSI MEG Z490 Unify. I want to know if there are better, or similarly performing cheaper options for under $300, United States.
  3. Should I post a new topic for a good motherboard, or do you happen to know a good overclocking one under 300?
  4. Ok, and the 10600k is about 300. Is is worth getting the 10700k for an extra $100, and the extra performance, or nah?
  5. Sorry. I replied. I guess I don't know how to quote until now.
  6. Sorry about not quoting. I don't use the forum much. What would a good motherboard be for 10th gen Intel? Also, what is the price difference between 10700k, and 10600k? I could disable hyperthreading for 10700k for higher clocks, but the 10600k would have much lower clocks.
  7. For 10600k, and future chips. Nothing over 300, and preferably with WiFi.
  8. Better 11th gen I mean. What motherboard would you suggest for heavy overclocking?
  9. Better upgrade path as in next gen you mean? I guess if I got a cheaper one now, I could upgrade to a better one later.
  10. New socket, more power consumed, better thermals, and same architecture as 5 years ago.
  11. Actually mahyar, it is still the same architecture as Skylake I am pretty sure.
  12. 3800x is only 30-40 bucks more expensive, and I am kinda leaning towards Intel.
  13. I kinda did want to go with 10th gen, but the 10600k does perform slightly worse due to only 6 cores in those two games I mentioned. I would be willing to try if you could prove it performs better. I am considering 10700k, but only if it performs a good bit better than the 9900k.
  14. I haven't bought a motherboard. I am waiting to choose CPU. I planned to use Asus ROG z390e for Intel, and X570 TUF for AMD.
  15. Thank you mahyar, but I narrowed the choices down to these for that reason, and price. The 9900k is just a better binned, hotter 9700k.
  16. My graphics is fine. RTX 2080. I didn't say AMD didn't perform as well overclocked, sorry for the misunderstanding. I know AMD overclocking doesn't improve it a whole ton, and I want to know if the 9700k, when overclocked, performs better than the 3800x, overclocked or not.
  17. I am trying to build a PC to competitively play games like Fortnite, and Warzone at above 240 fps in even intense scenarios. I have a 240hz monitor btw. I am on a budget though, and have narrowed my choices to the 9700k, and the 3800x. Nobody lecture me about price to performance, because AMD wins, but I want to know if the Intel chip will perform a lot better when overclocked. Cooling is no problem as I have a Deepcool Assassin III. Which will perform better in extreme framrates: the 9700k overclocked, or a 3800x.
  18. Cooler master has some good hybrid options, but I would personally go with some black noctua fans if noise is a problem, or Be Quiet! fans are also great. Corsair is also a great option. If you want extreme performance, just slap some delta 4000rpm fans on, and you can appreciate the jet engine your PC has become.
  19. Try plugging it in to a different HDMI port if your GPU has one. If that fails, you try setting your drivers back to the previous version. There should be an option for that on the Nvidia or and website. Or, go into advanced display settings as well, and figure out if the monitor is recognized as 1600 x 900. Finally, check that the onboard monitor resolution(if there is an option directly in the monitor's menu) is set to 1600 x 900. That is all I can think of at the moment. I may not respond after this.
  20. What is your monitor resolution?
