  1. So, I got a new router about a month ago and I initially had some really high latency spikes, but figured out that it was because the extender I was using to connect my computer to the router did not support ac wifi. I got one of those cheap usb dongles to replace it and it has been working fine for a few weeks now, but all of a sudden I have been getting really bad lag spikes while playing CS:GO and I pinged my router first to make sure it was not a problem between the router and the usb dongle. It turned out that my computer would just occasionally lose contact with the router. It would gain connectivity the next time it got pinged and the latency would be high for just this ping but then it would go back to normal after that. Please help!
  2. Do you think it would be okay if I just got a USB dongle that supports ac?
  3. So should i just get a new adapter then? One that can run ac?
  4. Do you mean that I have to do something to my pc in order to fix it?
  5. As of now, I am using the TP-Link N300 wifi extender as my access point.
  6. Unfortunately, my router and pc are on opposite side of the house. There really is no way to connect them via ethernet cable. I just don't understand why this is happening because I never had any lag problems with my older, slower router.
  7. Hello, I have just gotten a new router (jetstream ac1900) and have been getting very high ping spikes while playing games (mainly CS:GO). My previous router (Netgear WNDR3700) never gave me any problems with ping, I just wanted faster internet. The new router will be running at a latency of 25ms but then it will randomly spike up to 300-1000ms. The download speeds are fine on the new router(60 Mbps), but I have noticed that the upload speeds are horrible (3-4 Mbps). Maybe this has something to do with it? That is with all other devices that are connected turned off. With my previous router, I had speeds of about 25Mbps download and 5Mbps upload. I use a wireless connection, but I also used a wireless connection with my other router, so I don't think that has much to do with it. I have tried setting the device priorities so that the pc that I play on has the top priority, but it does not appear that there is even an option in the router's setting for this. Does anyone have any ideas?
