  1. Thanks for the replies! I am a gamer primarily, and have heard you get better frame rates out of intel... If the new I7-10700K pushes the prices of the 3700X down then I may go AMD. Otherwise I might go with the new i7 as it is essentially a cheaper i9-9900K. MSRP may vary i suppose. My hesitation with going for a new build is the insane prices on graphics cards in Canada. I can't get a 2080ti below 1700 dollars, and people are saying it's not worth the upgrade right now from a 1080. At least until the 3k Nvidia cards come out I can stay with my 1080 and just replace the CPU/MOBO.
  2. So, a few years ago I made the mistake of buying my first PC as a prebuilt. This prebuilt came with an i7-7700K and GTX 1080. I want to game reliably at 1440p, 144Hz. I have a budget of $3,000 CAD. The motherboard in there now has no expand-ability and limits my RAM speed quite a bit (ASRock H110m-ds/hyper). I would also like to put in bluetooth/NVME drive etc. I am thinking a motherboard/PSU replacement is best until the new Nvidia cards come out later this year. OR I can sell my current PC to my brother for 1k and do a new build right now. With a new build, I could use my current SSDs(1TB/256GB) and RAM (16GB 3000MHz). What do y'all suggest? Any recommendations welcome!
