  1. I got virtual box on it I just wanted to take a look at a type 1 just to say hey I did it. But make good point will probably just upgrade to windows 10 pro and try hyper V. Thanks again !
  2. I thought it was only with windows 10 pro though ??
  3. No this is just supposed to be a VM server so I can get familiar with a type 1 hyper visor. Nothing more just upload some Linux OS to play with and that’s it.
  4. Ok it made it sound much more difficult to do when I was reading through the stuff. Thanks again !
  5. So then no real need for me to configure a static IP or anything that ? Just plug it into my switch and let it automatically get the IP info and should be good to go ?
  6. Fair point. So just need to setup firewall settings on proxmox ? Anything else you recommend ? I know it just has a login screen which obviously don’t use a simple password lol
  7. So finally upgraded my personal rig and still have my parts that are currently 7 years old. Thinking about making a proxmox VE server to play with type 1 hyper visor to learn more. I am wondering how can I set it up to where it’s just on my LAN and no internet access. From my understanding (still learning networking) to access the GUI I still need an IPv4 address to access it. Would I just have to assign a static private IP access and just not put a default gateway ? I tried to see if there was a way of accessing it via MAC address but that’s not how it works lol just trying to sandbox it from internet to prevent any hacks. Much appreciated !
  8. thanks again for the help ! I had the feature turned on but then i also added it to the startup and once i reboot it came on. I am ok with this having it in two places that way there is no way it wont start up when booted. thanks again!
  9. I am running windows 10 and EVGA geforece gtx 1660 6GB model and just wanted some confirmation. I watched on both MSI afterburner and Precision 1 that the fan curve i custom adjusted only came on when the software was opened up..if it wasnt started up then it would just make the GPU fans not spin at all. Is it always required that the software be loaded up for it to have the fan curve activated or is there a way for it to run in the background without having to remember to start the program up. I did check the "start on OS" for MSI afterburner (only software i have as i uninstalled precision 1). Just want to make sure that it does control the fans and not overheat. As far as i can tell is my MB does not have GPU fan control. I think the "start on OS" is just going to be the best thing for now but just wanted to make sure it is the correct way of going about this. thanks in advance for all help
  10. Read on some forums that the silent wings 3 PWM do not work well with Corsair commander pro. Anyone else having this issue or you are able to fully control fan speed and curves with it ? thanks in advance
  11. If I’m using an external dvd ripper is there one specific for blue ray ones or any external DVD burner / ripper ok ?
  12. Appreciate it ! Any issues with quality or viruses from those softwares ? Are they free ?
  13. Wanting to do a plex server and start storing all my dvds on it to be able to use the plex app on Apple TV in my room. However haven’t done dvd ripping at all and some of the movies are blue rays. What software do you all use and is there an issue with quality when doing dvd ripping ? can you download offline content from plex server ? thanks again for the feedback !
