  1. The system is an Asus Vivobook 15 X512DA with a Ryzen 3 3200u. It has only one M.2 slot which is populated by a 128GB SATA unit (not nvme). The laptop also has a space next to its battery where I could perfectly fit a 2.5 SATA SSD and right next to it, there's a flex connector. However, the box came with no bracket or SATA to flex adapter whatsoever, even though there were other similar models that did come with it. Therefore, I was wondering if I could buy a generic SATA to flex adapter so as to be able to have two drives on the machine. Here are some photos of the space that I talked about, the flex connector which I think could be used for this purpose and the generic adapter that I could buy. Perhaps, Asus didn't include this expansion option because of limitations in the platform itself, or maybe it's just because it's an ultra budget option. Let me know what you think, and thanks in advance.
  2. I have an asus laptop (Asus Vivobook 15 F512DA paired with an AMD Ryzen 3 3200U) and after updating my BIOS to version .313 I've been experiencing very slow Windows boot times. In turn, I attempted to downgrade it using the EZ Flash Utilty, which was not possible and so, I was looking to flashing version .310 using a tool named AFUDOS.exe. My question is that the process of setting up your USB stick to use this tool involves turning your .cap bios file into a rom file, but as Asus's bios file format is not .cap (it's the bios version number, .310 for instance), I wonder if creating the rom file using this file format anyway and running the tool to flash an older BIOS could brick my laptop. Thanks in advance.
  3. I am to wait anyways. Neither r3 3300x nor MAX msi motherboard lineup has arrived to my country yet. Older B450 motherboards won´t have support?
  4. I am listing the pc components for my next build and I am deciding which chipset to buy so as to pair it with an r3 3300x. I would also like to have upgradeability options for ryzen 4000. Therefore, the decision is mostly about whether all B450 motherboards will get support for ryzen 4000, or if I should wait for B550 launch and buy a motherboard that is guaranteed to support zen 3. Thanks in advance.
  5. I just wanted to know if it is worth for me upgrading from an AMD A10 9700 with a Radeon RX550 4gb to a Ryzen 3 3300X. Will it make any difference in performance? Thanks
  6. I have just bought a new SSD and I want to clone my OS to it (Windows 10), so as to have it as the bootable drive. The problem is that I found that my HDD has no partitions, so I am unable to clone the system only, and cloning the entire disc is not an option as my HDD has over 600gb and the SSD is just 250gb. Is there a solution to my problem? Thanks in advance.
  7. I have an Asus Vivobook 15 f512da-wh31 and I want to update its BIOS because I've been having problems with a RAM stick. In the Asus webpage there are two BIOS versions for the model f512da: x512da-as and x512dapas. I have currently installed x512da-as version, and I wanted to know if it is the right one for this system or I should download dapas version. I didn't want to just install it because I've been said that it is dangerous to install an incompatible BIOS. Asus Vivobook 15 f512da-wh31. Specs: 4gb RAM soldered, 128 gb SATA m.2 drive and a ryzen 3 3200u.
  8. I have an Asus Vivobook 15 f512da-wh31, which comes with 128gb ssd m.2 SATA storage, 4gb RAM (soldered) and a ryzen 3 3200u. I wanted to have 8gb of RAM, so I bought a 4gb RAM stick from Kingston (model: KVR24S17S6/4). Before installing it, I updated the BIOS. However, after having installed the module, Windows 10 Home Edition wouldn't boot but when I entered the BIOS all 8gb of RAM where there, recognized. Then, I tried booting Ubuntu from USB and everything went normal. I also tried disabling secure boot, but Windows didn't boot either. To clarify, the laptop works normally when I use it without the new 4gb RAM module. Do you have an idea of what can be causing this problem? Thanks in advance.
