  1. my cooler is on the way i was just wondering if i could run my pc safely in the mean time
  2. Oh yea i forgot to mention that I heard some small crackling sounds too like the CPU was literally frying.
  3. Out of curiosity, I ran my i7 8700k for a couple minutes without a cooler (2 case fans with glass panel off) using integrated graphics. I quickly booted up NZXT CAM and the cpu was at 99 C the whole time (about 2 mins). Is the CPU okay? I turned the system off by the way, it didn't shut off.
  4. Thanks. Also, you see the ladder on the right side? Can I put the image behind it or do I need a better software for that?
  5. See image attached: I selected an area in GIMP and I want to place an image inside of it to make it seem like the astronaut is looking at that picture. Is this possible? I'm using GIMP 2.10.8 on a Raspberry Pi 400 by the way.
  6. seasonic focus gold gm-550. it's in the B or A- tier on the psu tier list i believe?
  7. oh wait actually the 980 ti just got sold. 1070 ti it is...
  8. me and my dad been looking for quite some time for a fair graphics card and we came across the 980 ti and the 1070 ti. Both are on par with each other but do they both support my 1080p 165hz monitor?
  9. I was also thinking about the 980 ti or the 1070 @AndreiArgeanu & @MadAnt250 & @Mick Naughty
  10. Oh so my idea was to sell my CPU and my GPU to get the i9 then whatever I have left over for the GPU. But I only have 550wat 80+ gold psu (seasonic focus gold gm) and i dont want to over do it.
  11. I am looking for a graphics card and I found some on a few different sites. This one in particular caught my eye; the GTX Titan Black 6GB GDDR5. It is a lot like my current RX 580 8GB but I want to know if I should buy the GTX Titan Black. My budget is $300-$400. Graphics cards are really hard to find for good ones right now so I've resorted to eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc. The Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 is an option as well as the GTX Titan Z 12GB. Games I will be playing are mostly Fortnite and GTA V while streaming. I'll also be picking up the i9 9900K from MicroCenter for $299.
  12. Looking for quiet rgb case fans. the ones that i have right now that my dad put in my pc before are kind of loud and the rgb does not look that appealing, fake rgb almost. i unplug them and take off the front of my pc while im streaming as the fan noise is heard in the background on my streams. i don't want to spend too much on them as i may be copping the 9900K from microcenter for $299 and i also have to buy another gpu. Something like the corsair ML or LL series would be nice but on the lower $ scale
  13. I can spend the $299 on the 9900K. My plan was to sell the GPU (sold it for $600 on eBay this morning but buyer didn't pay yet) and sell the CPU to buy the 9900K and another GPU, whether it's better or the same as what I had before.
  14. Budget (including currency): $300 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming Fortnite, GTA V, Valorant, maybe others Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have a 550w Seasonic focus gold gm-550 80+ gold psu and an Asus ROG Strix rx580 that I will be selling along with an i5 9600KF to sell. I will use the $ from the i5 and some $ from the gpu to purchase a new cpu. (found a 9900K for $299 at microcenter). Idk if my psu can take the i9 but im pretty sure it can take one of the i7s. I also have an AIO that i am selling as well; CoolerMaster ML204L 240mm. Which CPU should I buy? (choices stated in title and if you have any other recommendations, please share) I've also watched a couple YouTube videos and saw that the 9700k runs at a higher cpu usage in most games than the 8700k
  15. I also need about 9 or 10 rgb fans so i'll take this advice too!
  16. yes, that could be an option but that is a fan configuration that i've done before and it really didn't make a difference in temps if any difference at all. It sure looks really cool though.
  17. If the back-right and front fans are intake, then the mesh mod might be ideal. But if the back-right is exhaust and the front is intake then they'll be fighting for air from each other. But as you may know the top 360mm AIO should be exhaust since heat rises. The back fan should be exhaust if I'm not mistaking.? the 3 bottom fans should be intake as most GPUs (especially 3 fan ones) are intake so it'll help with GPU temps. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please, I'm more hardware savvy.
