  1. That’s the only difference between the two motherboards? I was also told that the original Tomahawk motherboard cannot support memory past DDR4 3600MHz, while the “Max” can support RAM well past 4000MHz. - jkidd
  2. I have been advised to upgrade to the “Max” on the basis that the original motherboard doesn’t support the Ryzen 5 3600x (or any other Ryzen 3000 series CPU), and only the Max supports it straight out of the box. - jkidd
  3. This is my current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/joshuamkidd/saved/rcqW3C - jkidd
  4. I am now thinking of upgrading to the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard, as the original MSI B450 Tomahawk supposedly doesn’t support the Ryzen 5 3600x (as I have been advised). Is there really any difference between the two motherboards (besides the word “Max”)? Would it be a waste of money to upgrade (as I just purchased the original motherboard)? Please bear with me, as this is my first time building my own PC. - jkidd
  5. I was advised by a techie friend/professional that I needed at least 750 watts to ensure that I had enough power, especially when all of the computer parts are on and running. - jkidd

  7. Hi, everyone - For my build (https://pcpartpicker.com/user/joshuamkidd/saved/rcqW3C), I'm debating between the following B450 motherboards: ASRock B450M Pro4 AMD AM4 mATX Motherboard https://www.microcenter.com/product/509732/B450M_Pro4_AMD_AM4_mATX_Motherboard MSI B450 TOMAHAWK AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard https://www.microcenter.com/product/509723/B450_TOMAHAWK_AMD_AM4_ATX_Motherboard?storeid=131 What would you suggest that I buy, based on my build (link above)? Also, what are the pros and cons of both motherboards? Thanks. - jkidd
  8. Hey, everyone - Because I'm trying to keep my current build to under $1,000, I'm looking for all kinds of deals and savings that I can find. Here is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/joshuamkidd/saved/rcqW3C I came across a refurbished 750 watt power supply by DELL that is listed for only $20.99: https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-refurbished-750-watt-power-factor-correction-power-supply/apd/mg309/computer-chassis-components Some tech. friends thought that as long as it had matching cables, connectors, and components, it should work with my build. What do you think? Buy or pass? - jkidd
  9. Hi there, everyone! This is my first build, so please bear with me. I’m unsure as to which power supply that I should buy for my first build, which can be viewed here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/joshuamkidd/saved/rcqW3C 500 Watts, 650 Watts, 750 Watts, or more? A techie friend suggested at least 750 Watts. Any help here would be great! Thanks! Josh
