  1. Hey guys. i recently have encountered a problem with my pc. im playing csgo and it freezez for 5 seconds and continues for 30 sec after that and freezez again. when i boot the system, it starts at every 5 mins, but at the third match (2 hrs in) i had to abandon the match. is there anything you guys can help me with?? some info: it's a Palit StormX 1650 and it is paired with a gygabyte h410 and 10100f and 8G 2666 CL18. it's not overheating. im sure. it maxes out at 50C under load. I use all Low setting at 1024x768 which gives me 300fps. but i even set fps_max to 75. gpu utilization is about 20 percent! and cpu utilization is at 40 percent during game. i had this issue for a while and then i updated to the new nvidia driver last week. it stoped for like a day and then started again. i spent multiple times restarting the driver (win shift ctrl B) and it does not change anything. even in windows and light use like watching youtube, it does that. a note here: when im watching youtube, it's fine for hours, but the moment i move the mouse to the player (so it has to render youtube player HUD for play/pause/setting/....) it will freeze again. it will do it when it has to render a new thing on a page(of course after that 5 mins have passed. it will not freeze everytime i move cursor on the player) what should i do? is it possible that my GPU is defective? i really hope not. i had this imported and i dont have a warranty on it :(
  2. yes actually. I'm a streamer and the price of a dedicated server (to run my own sourcemod on) in my region is like 20-40 percent of my monthly income. but price of a shared server is like 10 times less. I still need the interesting custom matches for the content, but this way, its like 2% of my income. also, this way, I can connect the script to streamelements and chat can execute commands on the fly using channel points and tips.
  3. Hey Guys! I was trying to automate a set of actions in csgo for a custom game mode. i need to programmatically access the terminal in csgo (both read the terminal and also execute csgo commands in it) is there a library which can be used to do so? the second part: if you couldn't find a better library, i found on with a big bug. can you help me debug the bugs? i found this repository on GitHub that can be used to automate things. but the problem is it will read the whole console over the telnet protocol. and waits for the command. meaning if any new lines were to be added to the terminal (like i someone says something in the chat and the chat will appear in the terminal logs) all the commands will be executed again.
  4. Hi guys! I'm currently using a conventional ADSL line. but it is slow and kinda expensive for what i get out of it. it's about 1-2 Mb/s (yes! MegaBITs. not bytes! i can download at a mind blowing speed of 90 Kilobytes a Second it can't play YouTube beyond 240p) and it is connected to a switch and 1 desktop, 1 laptop, 4 phones are connected to this network. not to mention, my NAS and a personal Linux server for dev work. i can get a LTE data plan with the same cost, witch provides around 25-50 Mb/s. but there are two major problems. first of all, i will have to buy it for almost every device and it will be 6 times more expensive then. and more importantly, i will lose access to my NAS. so the Question is: Is there a way that i can configure a phone or a LTE modem to share the LTE plan with the whole network connected to that switch? If it helps, i have a spare PC with i3 3220 inside. P.S. i know about WiFi/USB tethering. but i can't use either. because i can't use them and my NAS at the same time.
  5. Hey guys. i was wondering, which one to use as a scratch disk for video editing? or for a faster steam library. 1. five 320GB hard drives in raid 0 for performance, and a 2TB in their raid 1 for redundancy. 2. a 2TB SATA SSD. here's why i'm asking this question: i was doing some napkin math and i figured out, i can buy a 2TB HDD for 50$ and 5 320GB HDDs for around 20$ each (150$ total) . but if i wanted to buy a 2TB SSD form a "reputable" brand, it wold cost me anything from 200 to 450 bucks. I know that having 6 drives will increase the chance of a hardware failure, but on the other hand, i could buy 2 more 320GB and still come out ahead! BTW, i already have a 120 NVME as a boot drive, so that's not a concern for me. and also, my PSU can drive 6 HDDs at the same time. and i have 6 SATA-III 6GB/s ports on my motherboard. and let's change gears a little bit. as Linus demonstrated in this video, NVME doesn't give any real world improvements in day to day use. so, is it better to use 4 of the fattydove ssd's (featured in this video) in raid 0 and a 500GB HDD in raid 1, as opposed to using a 970 pro? the cost difference will be (4*20 + 30 = 110$) vs 170$ I would really like for each of the members to say what they think about this approach.
  6. isn't there a converter board that could communicate through USB-pd protocol and relay the incoming power to the barrel port? i mean is it even possible to make that board myself?
  7. Hey all. i have an old ASUS laptop and I was wondering, if i can somehow use a battery bank to charge it? its original charger was a 130w barrel plug charger. but i know USB-pd only supports up to 100w. its not a big problem. I'm getting 1-2 hours on my laptop and i just want to extend that to 5-6 hours. it doesn't matter if it can charge up my laptop. i only need it to trickle charge (or ever discharge at a lower rate) thanks guys
  8. The PSU is a local well known brand. My friend hooked it up to a 1060 for about a year. But he recently upgraded to a 2080ti and needed a beefier unit. It's in a "good enough" condition. Also, the motherboard was a microATX and had 2 memory slots. Can i just buy the exact same memory in 8GB capacity and mix it with it's 4GB brother? Or I'll lose the dual channel memory? By the way, i knew people are nice here, But i definitely didn't know how much nicer they are than i thought
  9. Tanks a lot. I check the pricing, but the problem is, I'm buying the rx580 used, and there are still no used 1650 in my region. And a new one will cost at least, 50 percent more. And I try to rethink the PSU. Thanks again
  10. Hi guys. Im planning to upgrade my brothers rig on a very tight budget. He is currently using a core i3 3220 and gt 730. 2x4GB ddr 3 1600 ram and a 330w power suply (and he couldn't tell me the exact motherboard model) also his monitor is 1366x768p (i know. Right?) He was mainly doing the upgrade JUST to play battlefield 5. And is not planning to upgrade the monitor. My suggestion was to just upgrade the graphics card to a rx580 and cpu to a i7 3770 (non-k. I don't think his motherboard supports overclocking) to avoid having to upgrade the motherboard (and also to a ddr4 ram). Here are my questions : 1 - Is this CPU going to bottleneck the GPU a lot? (I've seen gameplays of a 6-core ryzen 2600x + rx580. The CPU utilization was 30 to 40 percent. And the cinebench multi-core score was 1600 (3770) to 3000 (2600x)) Here is the link to that video: 2 - what power suply does he need? I know he can't use the 330w. But i found a good deal on a used 480w silver unit that's half the price of a 600w unit. Is it going to be enough? Or should he bite the bullet and spend twice as much on the PSU? (no overclocking. no rgb. And wierdly, no case fans ) 3 - is 8 gig still enough? Or shuld he buy another 4GB stick to have 12GB total? 4 - is intels, stock heatsink good enough for that 77w CPU (without ability to be overclocked)
