  1. Thank you guys very much for your input. I dont think I will regret this purchase as it currently seems like the best thing for the money. And to be honest I agree with jonnyGURU on this one, that the amazon reviews aren't to be taken seriously, and that my decision relies on actual publications.
  2. I meant that there was a lack of reviews from trustworthy publications like jonnyguru, techpowerup, etc. Plus most Amazon reviews won't be the most helpful as many of those reviews are first impressions, and seeing that this is a recent unit, it's unpredictable how well it will work in the long run.
  3. thanks, It sounds like a decent unit. The main reason why I was asking is because there is a lack of reviews on this and other budget options, hence why I came here. From the reviews I have heard, it sounds reputable.
  4. So a while back, i made a topic on whether i should get a new psu or adaptors for my old one. Being that my budget was low (£55 maximum), I didnt have a lot of options. I understand that a more expensive higher quality power supply would present less issues and work for a long time, but i don't have the money. I ended up buying the Be Quiet system power 9 600w as i got it for a relatively good cost (at least right now during the pandemic) and it will arrive soon. Im not concerned about its wattage, but for £55 was it a good option? (e.g. would you use it/trust it in a mid range pc with something like an rx 580) and is it better than other options at this price? and are there any alternatives? (the model I bought): https://www.bequiet.com/en/powersupply/1279 Thanks for reading
  5. Hi everyone. Today I ended buying a cx750m locally, and it worked OK. But the instant that I ran a game or benchmark the system turned off and rebooted. I talked with the seller who was a pc repair specialist, who said that it worked with his system. I'm gonna get a refund tomorrow as he says he doesn't know what the issue is after showing him the problem I was facing, so back to square 1 for me. I am sorta frustrated but ill keep my eyes on the market.
  6. in gta v at high/very high, my gpu is getting around 30 fps at 100% usage but is only at 50⁰c and using like 80w for some reason. This may be inaccurate from msi afterburner, but I'm not sure.
  7. I can't afford a psu upgrade but I'll look out for some local deals. Secondly, the psu is old but it has seen little use from before 2018 as it was sitting in my brothers old pc for like 5 years, and he only used it for 2. And the person he bought it off probably didn't give him the extra unused psu cables. I think the psu has some life left, so I would like to try the dual 6 pin to 8 pin method. Sadly, I can't find any of these adaptors online. I saw 1 on ebay but it is unbranded. If anyone knows where to get a branded one, or this power supply's specific modular pcie cables, that would be really nice. (Plus the power usage is from msi afterburner and hwinfo during the unigine heaven benchmark) (and I am from Britain so my currency is pounds)
  8. yup, i have 2x 6 pin cables but not a 6+
  9. HI everyone, im using an xfx rx 580 and my power supply is an old cooler master real power pro m1000 (rs a00 esba). The card needs an 8 pin but i only have 2 modular 6 pin cables and it is impossible to find the modular cables that work with this power supply online due to its age. So i have been using a 6 pin to 8 pin adaptor which isnt recommended. I have seen underwhelming performance in games, and when running unigine heaven my rx 580 was only using a maximum of 120w. For example in minecraft optifine with 16 chunks i can only get around 80 fps. So I need a new adaptor for my card to power it fully and hopefully get more fps but im not sure which will work best. My options are: 8 pin eps to 8 pin pcie (im very unsure whether this is safe) Dual 6 pin to 1 8 pin (very uncommon to find online, I didnt get one with my gpu as its used) Dual molex to 8 pin (also unsure if it's safe) (cant use dual sata to 8 pin as no left over sata connectors) Which one do you think is best? Or do you have any alternative options that can power my card fine.
  10. I have a cooler master real power m1000, and I haven't had any issues with it, despite it being In use for a long time (bought secondhand, brother used it for about 2 years, and I am approaching 2 years of usage as well). Despite not needing a new psu, I read the power supply tier list 4.0, where it is stated to be a low tier psu. I'm concerned that it may be unreliable. Have any of you who have used it experienced problems? Is it reliable? Thanks
