So I recently bought a graphics card, a ZOTAC GTX 1650 super to upgrade form my GTX 750ti. I installed it to my pc and experienced weird issues:
- I tried to play Apex Legends, and when I change my graphics settings, the screen would go black and my monitor would go into power saving mode. Sometimes I would hear a device disconnect sound (the same as if you were to unplug a usb device); it reverts itself back to original settings thanks to the game.
- I started Forza Horizon 4 and seemed to work fine until the starting loading screen, where the same thing above would happen but worse, as I cant revert back and it forces me to restart by flipping my power supply's switch.
- Minecraft seemed to work fine. If I leave the game the black screen would happen for a second but it goes back to normal by itself.
- Playing osu! was OK but there was stuttering here and there.
TL;DR: My monitor blacks out and goes into power saving mode only when I play graphically intensive games. Running google chrome, non-game, and light titles work just fine.
My GPU temperature was fine, it was at ~35 degrees Celsius.
Only one little thing on my end is that i'm using a DVI-D to VGA adapter hooking my computer to my monitor. But I highly doubt that'd be the problem since the adapter is new and it works fine (for the most part).
I tried:
- Reinstalling drivers - no difference
- Installing an older driver - cant install at all for some reason
- Checking for dust and reseating the card into its PCI slot - no difference
Im starting to think its a GPU problem, but i'm trying to keep some hope and attempt to fix it.
Can anyone help me? Any would be appriciated. Thanks!
