  1. Hi guys, So the story goes, i'm bout the upgrade my whole pc. And i've got pretty much everything figured out. Only one thing left... Should i go 2070 Super in SLI config or go for a single 2080 ti??? Note: I will be watercooling everything My sytem right now (pretty outdated): CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K GPU: GTx 760 SLI RAM: 16 GB corsair vengeance Case: Fractal Design R4 PSU: Corsair RM 650 CPU Cooler: Noctua nhd 14 Im excited to see your opinions!
  2. Thankyou i will try both of these options! ill let you guys know!
  3. So i got the thing working now overclocking to 4.6 ghz. there was a trigger switch on the mobo wich was in safe mode. other question tho after i go higher then 4.6 it crashes.... maybe a idea how i can squeeze maybe just a little bit more?
  4. Thankyou all guys for the help. I looked some more online and found someone with the same cpu mobo combo. And he had the same problem. Turns out my motherboard has a safe switch you can flick on and of. And it was on so it would only go to 800 Mhz. So i flicked it the other way and now its fixed. it runs at normal base clock, 3.5 ghz. Thankyou all for helping!!
  5. Okay sounds like a plan! I will have to work tommorow so i will get back to you on thursday!
  6. good idea to reinstall. gonna try that. The ssd is on the top of the list for replacement. but gotta wait until the end of the month to put it in. So then i will try to reinstall it on the ssd see if that works. But in terms of cpu performance in itself it shouldnt matter wheter i have a hdd or a ssd
  7. i've run multiple benchmark against similar cpu and it just underperforms like crazy. Also everything takes ages to load. Before i had a i3 in the system. i've put that one in aswel to test and it was faster then the i5. THe benchmark i used was cpu z and the score it showed me was 380 in muli threaded performance.
  8. Haha excuse my cooler is Noctua NH-D14
  9. Hi, I've build my pc round 2014. I'va been out of the game for a while now and just got back into things. Now my friend had a spare i5 4690K laying around and he gave that to me. The problem now is even at stock speeds its underperforming like crazy while he whas running it with a steady OC of 4.2 Ghz. I've been tinkerin for maybe 2 weeks now but i cant seem to find the problem. Is there someone that maybe could give me some advice about the problem or maybe a way to find the problem by maybe sharing some benchmarks? Thanks in advance My system: Case: Fractal design r4 psu: Corsair RM650 motherboard: gigabyte z87 oc force Ram corsair vengeance 1600 Mhz HDD: WD green 1 TB CPU: Intel core i5 4690K Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
  10. Well no i didnt. I havent even tryed it yet. The reason is that my cpu seems to be held back by something. the stock performance is really bad. Dont know if i maybe can send you a test result so you maybe have an idea why its not working properly on stock performance?
  11. I will go ahead and try! Thanks!
  12. Would this also count if the preset is on auto?
  13. This is not an option due to the new version of the cpu not being compatible with z87 chipset only with the newest version of the bios unfortanetly
  14. I have updated the bios to the latest version from the gigabyte website. Version 10b is it now running
