  1. So turns out. After replacing mobo and cpu with a fresh install on a new 970 evo, not only was my cpu broken, but my gpu is also screwed. Both at the same time! So ive basically got a whole new system apart from psu and case lol
  2. No. Just installed new bios from a usb device, in the bios itself. Pc ran perfectly for a week then I installed the 3600
  3. Hi After installing the latest bios to my b450, the 3600 i installed showed no signal but was running fine with my 1500x with new bios I reinstalled the 1500x and still no signal and red cpu light, I have tried display port on gpu and hmdi into mobo. The pc starts fine. All fans on, but it shows the red cpu light and no signal to monitor. I since in a separate incident bent the pins on my 3600, but the pc still shows no signal with the original 1500x which is undamaged. What could have caused this ? I have ordered a b450 max and another 3600 and going to start a fresh with a new install of windows, new ssds and cpu. If this problem persists could it be the memory or psu ? Really confused as to how I can go from a healthy 11month old set up, to one which doesnt work. Thanks to all. This is a great forum
  4. Quick question for all If I try and see this as a positive ( somehow) What would I need to do to install a new mobo and cpu ? Presumably if I just buy a b450 max with another 3600, I can plug it all in and do a fresh install of windows from a usb ? How would my storage work ? Is it possible to boot using the old ones before wiping them, or am I looking at new storage as well ? Maybe a 120gb ssd to install windows before all of this. What a disaster, a lesson to anyone who rushes a cpu change.
  5. Just removed the 1500x 1 bent pin So i go to install my 3600 Id put it back in the packaging back to front and bent 12 pins in total. So i dont have a pc. The bios has been reset and both my cpus are ruined. Hoping I havent damaged the socket as well. Any way of checking that ? The thing is, i thought even with a faulty cpu i should be able to get into bios ? Fuming is an understatement. Netflix on my smartphone tonight! Wish id never bothered and kept my 1500x
  6. Yeah. Just noticed the cpu light. Ive managed to bend a pin. So i go to my 3600 All for corner pins bent in as well. Fuming. Any way back from that ?
  7. Hey Boggy Good news Managed to start the pc by shorting the power switch on the mobo Only problem is now my monitor wont receive a signal Its all quite funny now i know my pc works
  8. Hi all I recently updated my b450 bios to the latest bios from msi website in order to install a r53600 My system was working fine this morning playing games ect. I removed all cables, removed my 1500x and installed the 3600 The pc started but wouldnt post. Turned the pc off, unplugged all cables. Reinstalled my 1500x Now the pc wont power on. I have done a cmos reset Checked everything is plugged in to psu and mobo Tried a different cpu cooler Tried removing on ram stick Removed gpu Still no power at all The only thing which seems to indicate anythi g is my gpu is receiving power from the pcie port and the power lead. Gpu led changes from red to white when power lead in plugged back in My next step will be a new psu. This one 11 months old ( evga 550w gold+) Any other ideas ? Is my mobo screwed. The whole system is 11 months old and up till today has ran perfectly. B450 tomahawk 1500x 1070ti strix Corsair vengance lpx 3000 Evga 550w
  9. Also, the mobo red standbye led is not on but the gpu on is. Ill try and run with one ram stick Thanks.
  10. All cables are still plugged in. Bios version 7c02v1d
  11. The only other thing I did was wipe the cable shroud ( which hides the psu cables and the bottom of the case) with a cloth to remove dust.
  12. Sorry for all the questions. I really appreciate your help on the matter.
  13. Yes First it started but didnt post Tried again, wont even turn on. No fans nothing. But gpu has power to it (led) so presume the mobo is distributing power correctly. Reset cmos, still wont power on. Even installed my 1500x again and wont power on. I wonder if my psu has failed.
  14. Still nothing. Wont even power on. Do you think something in the way I installed the cpu could be the issue ?
