  1. OK, so I removed 2 RAM sticks and I am still getting the problem.
  2. OK, I will give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion!
  3. When you say run with less RAM, do you mean remove 2 RAM sticks? or is there a setting that I can choose to run with less?
  4. Hi guys, I started my PhD in October and had a custom PC built. I have had this lagging problem since it was built and it has been back and forth my universities IT dept. and the manufacturers since with no help or diagnoses at all. I will try to explain the problem I am getting, here goes... I first noticed the problem when I was renaming lots of .PDF files. I would be halfway through renaming the file when all of a sudden the PC would lag for about a second and jump out of the renaming process, meaning that I would have to re-select the file to rename it again! Then I noticed that when I was writing stuff in Word, again the PC would lag for about a second and then all the words I typed during that second would all of a sudden pop up. this lagging also occured whilst moving the mouse and opening new windows etc. I notified the IT team who reinstalled Windows 10. The problem persisted and the IT team contacted the manufacturers who sent an engineer out. The engineer replaced the CPU and SSD for brand new ones and Windows 10 was installed from a freshly booted USB. The lagging continued and the manufacturer then remotely monitored the PC (to check CPU temps etc - they didnt find anything wrong). The manufacturers engineer returned and gave the PC a thorough testing/troubleshooting but found nothing. The engineer then replaced the motherboard for a brand new one. Again, the lagging persisted. The manufacturer then took the PC to their HQ for in-house testing and guess what? Found nothing wrong with it. I thought it could be the mouse and keyboard I was using, so I swapped those out multiple times... Lagging still there. I then thought it could be Microsoft Office, to which I deleted and fresh installed... Lagging still there. And now I am currently working from home during this pandemic with nobody to at the IT dept. or manufacturer to help. I am at my last straw with this damn PC. FYI, all the drivers etc are at the latest versions. I also have a screen record video which shows the lagging I am referring to, but it is too big to link on this post. >>> I think it could be a RAM issue (given the fact that every component except the RAM has been replaced), I have removed the RAM and put it back in, and the lagging is still there. I am also not a big computer guy, so my knowledge is rather limited, although I have learnt alot since this problem has begun (and through LTT's Youtube vids). I really appreciate everyones time and help in advance!!
