  1. She has not, I asked about it last night and she said that the only requirement is that it is white. So I have to figure out a good air flow case that is also white and not terribly expensive.
  2. Yeah the only reason I got the motherboard was because it dropped down to 250 CAD. Otherwise I wasn't going to grab it. But the wifi 6 on it and 10 GB ethernet is a nice bonus (not that she will be using the wifi for gaming/streaming but as a backup). I've been debating waiting for the 4080, so I might. But I also just saw a 3080 TI for the same price as a 3080 at a Canada computers (1250 after taxes). So I might get that instead. Save 500 bucks. In regards to budget, I am insanely jealous of it lol. It's being paid for by the money she is making off her stream right now, it's been a goal of hers so, don't want to disappoint! Thanks for the feedback!
  3. Budget (including currency): 3000 ish Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming (twitch), and gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have made this list to start https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/KTPKMb the Mobo in that list has already been purchased (as it was half off on sale tbe other day). No case selected yet as that's up to the wife since it's for her stream. I have storage already as well that I will be moving to the new PC, but wanted one new M.2, she has monitors and windows, etc. 1080p gaming at the moment with her current monitors, but will update them later so not eliminating 1440p/4k in the future. I would like to stick with Intel/Nvidia as she currently has a Ryzen 3600x and not terribly impressed with it, and I have a RX 5700 XT in another computer that I also am not terribly impressed with (used for VR). Selected a 3090 because the 3080TI's are nearly the same price anyway, but open to suggestions. Just want to make sure I'm not under doing it, or if there is better options for the cooler or ram or what have you. I'd be purchasing the parts once finalized on what it should make up (other than the Mobo as indicated). Thanks!
  4. I'm torn between two monitors. My local Costco has an LG ultrawide available, and it has items I like (G-Sync compatible, 144 hz, IPS panel), but it's 1080p and I want to get into 1440p ideally. I also saw an AOC one on Amazon that seems to fit the bill (price and options on it, 144, 1440p, curved, but VA panel instead of IPS) Just not sure what the better choice is, and looking for recommendations on either own, or even potentially a better one at the same price point. Used for gaming, mostly FPS games but also for RPGs and the like. Costco monitor: https://www.lg.com/ca_en/desktop-monitors/lg-27gl63t-b AOC Monitor: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07V39QHMY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_085zFbM4EVBSA Thanks!
  5. That's fair. I was under the impression it would just be one anyways, but thought it might be neat grab if it is both. Thanks for the discussion!
  6. I mean, like I mentioned, there is the G15 1660TI that has the same CPU in it as the 2060 and it does come with the AMD promotion. That's why I was curious. Since it had both in it, I wanted to see if it would come with both. In either laptop, it's the 4800HS.
  7. AMD side says it's laptop as well, NVIDIA says RTX 2060, and the website itself states I would get at least one of them.
  8. Might be a silly question, but with AMD offering Valhalla for free right now with CPU purchases, and NVIDIA offering Death Stranding with RTX, if you purchase, lets say a laptop with the 2060 and a 4800HS CPU, would you get both games? Looking at a Canadian dealer, it only mentions one of them, but I think I would get both, and I think I would get both, but wanted to see what the general thought was. Site in question is Canada Computers, laptop is the Asus G15.
  9. Fair enough. Was more curious to see if it was a nice bonus that was possible but totally get it. Thanks for the thorough input, definitely appreciated.
  10. Actually, one follow up item, which doesn't really matter in the long run, but would be more of a "oh that's cool" feature, is being able to run some VR on the machine. Obviously I'm not going to get amazing performance out of it (and that's not the point) more of a, it could do it and that would be a neat thing. Would the G15 with the 1660TI handle VR? I have the Index for context.
  11. Even if you remove the cooling block they have on the A15's? I think it's that one that they put the blockers on the front fans to pull air through the middle fan to cool the keyboards. Good point on the 2060 with the heat generated. I am interested in it just for the gimmick of the raytracing, but get that it's only a handful of games, and really, a gimmick as I mentioned. 1660TI is similar in performance if I recall, so still should be able to to play the more demanding games on it.
  12. Apologies, Believe it is the G15 with 1660TI, 144hz, Ryzen 7 4800HS, G15 with RTX 2060, 240hz, Ryzen 7 4800HS, and then ASUS TUF 15.6" Ryzen 7 4800H, RTX 2060, 144hz
  13. Looking at grabbing a gaming laptop, and have been doing some research and looking at various different types. A few I have in mind listed below, and was wondering what the best choice would be. I want an AMD CPU definitely, super interested in them and they seem to be very well performance wise (particularly to price point). Laptops considered: https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_1925_1920_1923&item_id=165756 https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_1925_1920_1923&item_id=165757 https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_1925_1920_1923&item_id=165761 Also interested in any other suggestions. Looking between $1000-$2000 CAD, main use is gaming, would be used portable as well, but mostly at home, so size/weight isn't an issue. Thanks for any help! Tyler
  14. I'm running most up to date drivers via the amd software if that is what you mean.
  15. Hey all, Running Minecraft with SEUS renewed shaders and getting really high GPU percentages and temperatures. The computer is working really hard and isn't consistently keeping at 60 fps. I haven't changed any graphic settings, just the default optifine and shader settings. My CPU only sits around 8% usage. Curious to see if I am experiencing an issue or if it's fine and should just lower some default settings. I have also already allocated more ram to Minecraft as well before anyone asks. Specs: RX 5700 XT 16 gb 3200 mhz ram Ryzen 3600x GPU sits around 97% plus almost constantly without dipping lower, temps around 101, CPU stays around 8%. Without shaders on, the GPU is dropped down to 10-20%. My other computer with a GTX 1070 running the same settings same shaders, etc, doesn't struggle at all. Is there perhaps different shaders I should use? Curious to see if anyone had experienced this before or has any other insights! Thanks!
