Hi! I recently bought a stick of RAM (Kingston HyperX Impact
16GB 2400MHz DDR4 SDRAM SO-DIMM 260-pin) for my laptop (msi gp62mvr 7rf leopard pro) and I am wondering if I should mix the old 8gb 2133mhz CL16 ram with the new 2400mhz CL14 RAM or should I remove the 8gb stick and only have the 16gb stick in? I am aware that they will both run at the slowest speed (2133mhz) and therefore it would be a waste of money to get a 2400mhz stick. Which one is faster for gaming? 16gb 2400mhz or 24gb 2133mhz? I mainly use the laptop for gaming and usually have discord running in the background. I don't usually run any browsers in the background.
Update: Apparently the original 8gb ram was supposed to run at 2400mhz, it was not giving me the option in Bios, so I took out the 16gb stick and enabled xmp for the old 8gb stick. Now I have all the 24gb of ram running at 2400mhz. Thank you.
