  1. Well it turns out it was just Comcast being garbage despite what they were saying. Twice last week Comcast had trucks come out and turn off the internet in my neighborhood to work on it and now I'm back to getting the speeds I'm paying for. Might see if I can get refunded for the past 3 months when they said everything was fine when clearly it wasn't. Thanks for all your help anyways.
  2. Nope. The only thing I have open aside from the game is usually steam and discord
  3. Hey new here and I got a problem I'm hoping you guys can help me out with. Recently my computer has been having issues while playing online games. I have really high ping and my game will constantly lag and rubber band while my friends are unaffected. We use discord and I can also watch my voice connection drop. It's only my PC that has issues online. I have connected a laptop to my router and it gets around 250 sometimes 300 mb/s when doing a speed test. We are paying for 200 mb/s (through xfinity) and whenever I do a speed test I get around 160 mb/s but I've seen it drop as low as 10 mb/s while I'm gaming. I know it's not the Ethernet cable because I have tried different ones. I know it's not my router because I have connected directly to my modem and that doesn't help. It's not the modem, I recently bought a new one and we had xfinity come out. I know it's not the NIC on my motherboard because I bought one and hooked it up to my motherboard and that didn't do anything. All my drivers are up to date from what I can tell. I ran a Norton scan and that didn't find anything. I have changed the duplex settings and updated my DNS and that didn't help. The other day I reinstalled windows and that seemed to help for a little bit, until I installed a couple games to try playing online and then my internet connection started to drop again. I tried uninstalling the games but that did nothing. I built this computer a couple years ago and its been fine until now. It's running on Windows 10 with an Intel i7- 8700K, it's got an Asus Prime Z370-P motherboard, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics card, and 16 GB of RAM. I really don't know what else could be causing this issue so hopefully you guys can think of something I can't. Thanks!
