  1. Good afternoon. I am attempting to set up a workstation in an adjacent room and am running into some problems with connecting the peripherals. I have a set of USB input devices that must be connected with low latency. I have looked at my options and I believe the only choices I have are a 30 ft active usb cable or a wireless usb hub. I lack familiarity with wither of these options and so I was hoping for a recommendation based upon the following concerns and limitations. As mentioned the cable length I would need is 30 ft. The straight line distance between the machine and the workstation is only 13 ft through 1 interior wall. I am concerned about minimizing signal delay as I intend to do some graphical work with a drawing tablet. Thank you for your time.
  2. Sorry for the delay in my response. After looking into this further I feel like it would be best if I clarify what I intend to do. I wish to use my computer from an adjacent room. The distance between my computer to the work station in the other room would be 30 ft (as the cable flies) as I cannot drill a hole in these walls. Obviously this is beyond the range of a conventional USB cable though I can find HDMI cables of sufficient length. I intend to use this work station for tasks requiring a bare minimum of input delay (uses vary but I was hoping to use a drawing tablet). I am looking for a cost efficient solution. I can either buy specialty cables or I can use my older computer to attach the peripherals and then network the two computers somehow. If the solution is non-trivial a video showing the steps would be excellent. I wish to thank everyone for their time and consideration.
  3. That is, effectively, what I want to achieve. I want to set up an "office" of sorts in the other room but instead of getting another computer I want to just use my existing computer since I have already paid for that one. It sounds like really long cables are the way to go. BTW do you have a link to that video?
  4. Good afternoon. I would like some assistance assessing the viability and best path forward on the following project: Project Goal: [After looking into this further I feel like it would be best if I clarify what I intend to do. Buy a really long HDMI and USB Cable and create a second working environment in the neighboring room 2. Buy a really long network cable and use the old computer as a thin client to access the new computer 3. Give up. Maybe read a book or go outside (Coronapocalypse permitting)
