    Perfect! I was under the impression Plex only allowed for streaming just on your home network. I believe I may already have the necessary equipment to set this up after all.

    I'm a novice when it comes to networking. I've not had any success trying to find a solution or guide to exactly what I'm looking to do. I want to set up a server that would allow me to stream videos outside of my home network whether watching a video at a friend's house or allowing family members to stream home videos anytime. Ideally I'd like to be able to utilize a program such as Kodi or something similar if possible. What are my options and what do I need?
