Do we think what Madison went through with LTT is exaclty what Emily is now going through behind the scenes? It's clearly not a supportive work environment it's as toxic and fast pace as possible

Emily, is the uber smart tech person that use to be on alot correct? I believe she used to call herself andy?

My lord, Linus needs to get out of his own way. His reply is not as bad as the one on Gamers Nexus, to be abundantly clear.

Most of his reply is actually measured and professional, but the problem to me is that he's clearly not on the same page as Terren Tong (CEO). Linus' third paragraph says that the HR team would be conducting a review (which, given that his wife, who owns 50% of the company, is the CFO and apparently the head of HR, would be impossible to be totally impartial).

Terren in a separate email says what needed to be said:

While Terren's email does supplement what Linus said, it is a massively important distinction (because it means someone with no stake in the results of the report will review the allegations and give an impartial opinion on what is or is not true) and it indicates that Linus gave a reply that was either not fully vetted by everyone or not vetted at all. For god's sake man, you NEED to run everything through a proper PR process for issues this serious. All of this should have been in one cohesive statement given at once. And apparently LMG doesn't have a press email? (Dextero used the contact form on their website because it didn't list a press contact email...) A lot of this pain and disjointed replies could be avoided if they had a central inbox for press inquiries.

I will say on a positive note no matter your opinion on the veracity of the claims, hiring a third party impartial investigator is absolutely the most responsible thing you could do, so props to LMG on that. And the limited nature of the response from LTT is understandable given the circumstances and pending investigation.

OR, and this might just be crazy, they thought of the outside investigation after the fact, and what does impartiality have to do with an HR review of the matter? it isn't a legal (like during a trial) action, it would just be them "trying" to get to the bottom of what happened

To the whole crowd of people asking why now. Try reading her posts. PLEASE.

ya sorry, she is trying to play the woman card, like somehow her being a woman would sway opinions, this isn't 1920 anymore, do women still get the shaft with alot of things in society today, of course, but her believing she wouldn't be taken seriously because she is one is BS, she is playing that up

Wrong. LTT does not inform you of your pay until your hired. I know this because I was interested in an engineering job there, and i found no pay information. Maybe its a little bit before your actually hired, but by then your already have your visa and plans to move.
Also, she claims she didn't have enough ram to edit her footage, causing several crashes a day (funnily enough, the editing team had the same problem)

Wrong. you're informed of your pay, or the pay structure during your interview. Or perhaps during contract negotiations when your offered the job, but before you accept, like it is with almost every other job ever. sit back and think about it a moment before you respond... "yes you're hired, but I won't mention your pay until you start working, Oh and if you ask me like every other person in history asks, I won't tell you" but you'll still come for the job anyway right?..... see how that wouldn't make any logical sense in any form (I exaggerated it for effect)

  5. 12 minutes ago, Booch121 said:

The tik toks had her editing 12k footage on a machine that couldn't handle it. Also im fairly sure in the tweets she claimed they switched up the contract on her multiple times, and didn't tell her the pay or what her actual work schedule would be until she moved an entire country to work there.

again WHAT!!!!! you can't sit there and type she "Didn't know her pay before she moved" .... you know your pay before you leave the interview, let alone before the end of which ever way your told you got the job, or before signing any employ contract

and you think her working for LMG she didn't have a powerful enough computer?... really man

It's crap like this and people like you that victims don't want to speak.  You don't KNOW she is lying or exaggerating, you are just guessing.  You weren't there.  You have no clue if it's true or not true, but to you it's 'obvious' based on what?    Maybe she is lying or exaggerating, and maybe she's not.   We just have to wait an see instead of just saying crap this.

You know how it is "Obvious".... its called logic, either Linus and that company are the most evil things on this planet that do almost literally everything wrong in regards to workplace harassment her saying they asked about her sex life, her boyfriends, asking her to twerk, calling her an idiot lazy (every other neghative word) and not ONE person would have stood up and said anything, you've hadn't heard anything from the time it happend until now, from her or anyone, considering she no longer works there and could have resentment, you package ALL that together and if your honest with yourself and say "what are the odds all these things are true and we never got even the slightest hint that this was the true nature behind closed doors" then you have to come to the conclusion she is making it up with the intent to hurt the companies  image and linus for that matter

I just finished reading maddison’s tweets and all i can say is holy shit. They have the worst workplace. I lost it at the inappropriate grabbing and discussions about how she wants to be f***ed. I dont have enough words. God damn, this keeps escalating to levels i did not expect.

I know right! imagine if it had actually been true, think of how bad that work place would be like, I mean hell we'd be hearing about it almost daily, all the sexual harassment that goes on. I'm just thankful that it is clearly BS made up lie or I'd have to start thinking of my thoughts on LMG

So I‘ve been able to give LTT the benefit of the doubt for nearly anything right now.

What is worse is Maddison‘s statement.

    Here‘s a bad summary:

Maddison decided to leave LMG due to multiple reasons, all of them hitting her mental health at an „alltime low“

I‘m going to start with the simple stuff.

    1. “I was expected to post 3 tweet, 2 Instagram posts, and 2 TikToks minimum per day“.

    - Okay, kind of weird that she has to do so much work, anyone knows that‘s a lot (especially in terms of quality). This approach reminds me of younger LTT honestly.........."

You have to be joking right? It's the only thing I could think of for you saying you think 3 tweet, 2 Instagram posts, and 2 TikToks a day is too much work, 3 tweets is like 200-500 words instagram is hitting a shutter button twice and ya the Tiktok might be a bit more involved but you'd still have 6 hours in the day to finish it.

also don't forget she AGREED to those terms, she didn't have to take the job, you don't get to say Yes to "We need X amount from you each day, if you can do that the job is yours...." to then say   "Man my work asks so much from me its mentally taxing"

I think this is my last straw. Unsubbed from everywhere. to have a place of employment where employee has to injure themselves to take sick days. Awfull deplorible

Linus and ltt should be ashamed. We need more employees to come forward and expose this shit show and unionize.

"....I think this is my last straw.." , so your just going to take this persons word for it 100% eh? even tho all she is saying makes LMG look like working for the most evil company ever, which would make you think you'd hear more of these sort of situations happening.

look at it logically if all she says happend were true, then enough honest good people that work there would raise a stink ect, it is blatently obvious she is lying, or at the very least exagerating to obsertity

  10. I tried looking on the forums couldn't find anything, I'm looking to get a test bench that isn't too high price (hoping like sub $100) but that is good enough to last awhile anyone got any ideas?

    Best Brand name?

    Best "Type"

if you recommend one that happens to be higher then $100 please still feel free, if its just to d amn good I may increase my budget

Do you even realize what you’re arguing about anymore? This has to be one of the strongest displays of someone being confidently incorrect that I’ve ever seen.

You’re seriously suggesting that you should trust a company’s part owner as an honest and reliable source of information about their product.

    Do I have that right?

OK well first we'd have to get a few things settled otherwise there would be no "winning", would you say the average person is good and wouldn't be considered malicious evil ect ect, just generally im speaking of? because OBVIOUSLY some ceos owners top dogs will be scum, but any argument you have with a person where lines aren't defined from the start assumes you talking about generalish no specifics, so a companys owner who probably knows the most whole picture about any givin product (within reason to size of company), say would know how it was made from what grade of materials time it takes, costs ect ect ect, now I believe we were talking about investing, and there is a whoile bunch of laws what you can fudge when telling investors and again that most people are generally not monsters then yes they would be a highly accurate source of info.... also you said biased like it was a bad thing in this context, of course they would be biased  ANYONE working for that company would be, it doesnt invalidate the info they may have, and the "truethfulness" of said info

You taking this as if it's a 100% true comment is even crazier, especially after I compared it to someone upgrading their toaster with a 3090.

The point of this was to exaggerate. It's a common thing to make a point very clear. The fact that I have to explain that now, makes this probably the craziest comment of all time.
Can you top the craziness?  🙄

ya I get the exaggeration part, i could have worded my reply better for sure, its that you took issue with me suggesting "take your business elsewhere" that is what people do, when we don't like something, say a restaurant we loved the steak at all of a sudden changes where they get meat from and it no longer is the same, and worse. we simply order something else and/or go to a different place, the metaphor might not work 100% but you should get my point

I'd love to step up from the 600Mbit/s I'm currently getting.

just curious, how much faster would you go if given the choice? I personally have 940 U/D and I find it to be about as fast as i'd need (for now) anything other then a 50+Gb file downloads with in 5-15 mins, pretty much can go to the bathroom then make a coffee, and small snack and it is done

Investors are extremely biased sources of information about the thing they're invested in. So no, you should never rely on their opinion/information about the commodity they're invested in.

This is like, super basic business 101 stuff. No idea why you're taking it personally.

well for starters everything you just said was false, lets go with that one first.

are they biased? if your asking if you should invest or not 100%, are they extremely biased? Not necessarily

but if you ask them almost anything other then should i invest then no, they aren't automatically biased. Infact they should be given more weight to their input as they most likely know more about said thing since seeing how they invested they most likely did some research in the company/idea/product ect. also so ".... rely on their opinion...." that is what an opinion is, an objectively bias view.

No, I'm suggesting that if ISPs can push 12 terabit through a cluster of servers and switches that consists out of 7 entire buildings and did cost multiple billions of euros, then they should be able to provide at least 80% of the population with fiber - especially when other countries with less money and manpower do that already.

The fact that it needs to be a right enforced by the government just shows how bad the situation is.

And to say that you should simply "take your business elsewhere" is uttlerly insane and one of the stupidest things I've read the entire year on this forum and I'm sure I've seen at least one person trying to upgrade their toaster with a RTX 3090.

Wow dude, me saying if you don't like a companies product/price/whatever, you should buy from a different one, is the craziest thing you've heard all year?....... now THAT statement might take the place of craziest

  16. 17 minutes ago, AlwaysFSX said:

To excuse ISPs that can quite easily provide decent bandwidth incredibly cheaply, much higher than 10mb/s mind you, is quite a laughable hill to die on? German companies just love doing things with technology about as backwards as they possibly can it seems.

at what point did i excuse the ISPs? i was referring to his assertion that the internet is a "right" (yes I know he didnt say those exact words but he implied it)

of course i think isp get away with alot, now while I have gigabyte internet I pay a little less then $120 a month that is crazy high and could/should be lower ect

but that is my choice to make.

also how do you know any givin isp can "easily provide decent bandwidth incredibly cheaply" maybe the infrastructure in the area isn't in good condition or super old, maybe they have a relatively narrow backbone and they'd rather give more people slower internet (the better of these two choices) then less people faster. Now while this is most likely not the case it could be, and it should be talked about as such since we simply dont know, it isn't hard to use the right words as to not seem combative right from the start and then maybe something useful can come out of the conversation that comes from it.

Please don’t rely on investors to give you information about the company they have money dumped into.

Seek information from literally anyone else.

Because clearly linus has shown time and time again he lies and isn't open about most thing, so obviously he is trying to swindle you.

now maybe what you could have said was, "always take info from an investor with a grain of salt" or "try to get a second source for the info"

both of which are good general life advice, but to suggest you can NEVER take the word of an investor, leads me to think you lost some money or something similar and your a little butt hurt.
