I have this harddrive from 2014 and it was working fine a few weeks ago, I was using it normally and it showed no signs of slowdown or anything. I also put it on defragment but I cancelled it after 8 passes since it was taking too much time. After that, it refused to work. Whenever I connect it to my computer, the computer freezes on bios logo and when I press del to enter the bios menu, it does so after almost a minute. Then I checked and it's not detected in bios. I put it in another computer and it showed unknown device in device manager. When I start the harddrive, there's now a grinding noise. I recorded it on my phone. Please tell me what's wrong with this and is the data safe? I can get it to a recovery expert but because of the virus, I may have to wait till the year end. Is there a way to fix it by myself? I contacted support and they told me they can get me a replacement for it, although it's going to be delayed.

Thanks. I'm just worried about the FAN LEDs to be honest. I can get a replacement for the controller but because of the virus, it's gonna be delayed.

So I have a fan controller that came with a case. It was working fine and the RGBs of the fans were good as well. The fan controller has RGB lights on itself and they were working fine as well. The fan controller had an extra cable for motherboard. But it was 3 pin and my motherboard had 4 pin. So I decided to somehow fit the wire on the 4 pin header and I did. Nothing changed when I connected it to G B R, then I flipped it, nothing. Then I changed the position to 12V G B and the RGB colors stopped spinning. Then I disconnected the wire but the colors were still and not spinning like before. I restarted the computer after turning the case supply off and now the RGB won't light up. Not even the remote or the RGB button on the case works. Can I fix it somehow? Please help me
