  1. 1 stick 8gb ddr4 2400mhz and yes its in thr correct slot
  2. I just bought a completely new build and it is all plugged in reseated the ram and the gpu nothing just turns on for 4 seconds roughly resets does it again, no post nothing at all not even a beep I have a 580 amd gpu b450 pro4 mobo and a ryzen 5 2600 cpu
  3. I figured it out, I am an idiot... When I had initiallly installed the cpu I put it in the wrong way.. and it was causing my ram to bug out I was seeing 10gb ram when I have 12gb ram. Just goes to show kids don't be an idiot like me make sure to put the cpu in right!
  4. Switched sockets, no change also I don't have a linux usb or a way to get my hands on one. but I did notice the graphics card isn't tight in either of the sockets it hangs down abit, could it be an issue with the motherboards sockets? I cleaned them out with no change.
  5. I did a new installation of windows so can I rule out software? also I still have to try moving it to another slot which I will do next
  6. So about 3 days ago, out of nowhere my pc reset with both screens turning black. Now it constantly blinks on and off any time I open or close something and blinks with black squares constantly I have used DDU to wipe the driver didn't do anything I moved ram didn't do anything I am not sure if it;s the graphics card or not I have a gtx 970 and it's only about 2 years old, although I did just put a new cpu fan in aswell. I am not sure of the problem I reallllly could use help with it.
  7. Not 100% sure on this one but it could be the power supply, due to the constant restarting, but again I am not 100% sure on that one just a suggestion for testing if you have another working one.
  8. Does the PC beep when it turns on? If not it could be a part is loose
  9. @papajo I have factory reset it yes, Does nothing to change it. I am going to fix the thermal issue sometime, but I live in NY not as simple as going to the store right now. my cpu does not reach 100c all the time only when I raised the throttling. it is currently at 72c while playing games while throttled it'll be fine untill I can go out and get what I need. Thank you for the help I will fix this issue once I am able to
  10. @unclewebb Hey, sorry just saw this thought I was pretty much done here. But I did test what you said in doing that starting up something caused each core to raise to 100c with any stress at all I do believe it's a heat issue, I idle at about 55-60c with only youtube running this processor hasn't been toyed with in a very long time. -Edit. although I was able to use throttle stop to get abit of a enchancement on performance for now whilst I am in progress for getting new fans ect. So thank you for your input aswell! This is what seems to be "working" for me, still not maxed out but im not reaching 100c everytime I start a game but this is the usage im getting while idle
  11. Doing that causes my computer to turn off with any stress, I've tried it 3 times
