  1. The reason the 11370 is bad is not because of the speed of its cores or the heat but because it only has 4 cores so it is massively slower on multi core performance.
  2. I am looking for a new gaming laptop for School, Gaming, 3D work in apps like CAD and Blender Rendering for around $1200. I don't know if its the same in other countries but here in the UK there aren't any good options with latest gen parts for that price, the best I could do for latest gen would be a TUF dash F15 with the i7 11370H and RTX 3060 so a good gpu but terrible cpu by modern standards, or a nitro 5 with a R7 5800 and a low power rtx 3060 but not great screen and build puts me off. As far as I can tell my best options for the price seem to be this HP Omen 15-en0008na for $1200 with a Ryzen 7 4800h and an RTX 2060 (sadly rtx 3000 variants of the omen are not yet available here) or this ROG Zephyrus G14 with a Ryzen 9 4900hs and a GTX 1660ti, also for $1200. They both have the same storage and ram so it really comes down which specification and build (as far as I know the zephyrus is extremely good for build quality). I will primarily use with an external keyboard and mouse and probably a monitor as well.
  3. Ok. I thought like it seemed to be the best. I can’t wait more than 6 weeks though so if it does take that long what would your second choice be?
  4. I am looking for a new laptop for 1080p gaming, school work, CAD and Blender. I want a good quality machine but can't spend much more than $1200. There are a few different specification/quality categories of configuration that I have found and need some help deciding which is best. The three categories are all around $1200 for me and are as follows: A Ryzen 9 4900HS CPU and GTX 1660ti GPU in a high end chassis like the Zephyrus G14, An Intel i7-10750h with an RTX 2060 in a high end chassis like the Razer Blade 15 (base model) or Lenovo Legion 7i, and finally there's a Ryzen 7 5800h with a RTX 3060 but in a low end chassis like the Acer Nitro 5 (RTX 3060 in the nitro is only running at 85w tdp however) which is obviously worse quality than the others. There is also a Legion 5 with a Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060 that can use 130w for $1160 but is currently saying ships in more than 6 weeks (not sure if this is because of an error, low stock or if it just hasn't actually been released yet here in the UK so I will try and ask lenovo tomorrow). Which of these do you think I should get?
  5. Hi, I am looking to buy some new fans for my PC and I'm struggling to choose which ones to go with. I have an NZXT H510 with a Ryzen 5 3600 with a BE Quiet Pure Rock 2 Black and an RX5700 reference design GPU. I am currently using the two stock NZXT fans, but they are loud and not PWM. I want to get 4 fans, so I can fill all of the available mounts. I know that the blower cooler also makes quite a lot of noise but I have found that disconnecting the case fans makes the thing about 2/3rds quieter. I have been looking around and I have seen that arctic P12 PWM fans seem to be a very good option for the price but I am not sure if that is for radiators (as they're static pressure fans). What fans would you guys recommend?
  6. As i said in the og post i have a RX 5700

What do you guys think of this Part list i have put together for it. I will add a set of cable extensions to it aswell. 9. I am looking for a new monitor for around £400 or lower. I quite like the look of the Viewsonic elite xg270qc and it seems to have quite good specs for the price (I can currently get for around £370). Is it a good monitor for the money or is there something for that price. Here is a link to the monitor: https://www.viewsonic.com/elite/products/XG270QC.html
  10. I am building a new system and im trying to decide what PSU to use. I will be using a RX5700 and a 3600 so need at least 650w. I can get a Corsair TX650M gold psu for £76.99 or a MSI MPG A650GF for £79.99. They're both 650w, 80 plus gold units. The corsair one is semi modular and the msi one is fully modular. I really need some help deciding which one to get.
  11. Thanks! I’ve realised I was getting hung up on getting the best performance and forgetting that I just want a system to have fun.
  12. That would cost £65 more than 3600 with m22
  13. As I said, I want one because of how it looks. I know I could save money on an air tower. All I’m asking is whether it will cool them well enough.
  14. I’m building a new pc and love the look of NZXT AIO’s but can’t decide which to get. I haven’t decided on what cpu to use yet but it will most likely be either the 3600 or 10400f. My question is, will the Kraken M22 be good enough for those cpus? I want a NZXT cooler, but the cheapest model is the X53 which is £120 vs £55 for the m22. I will more likely get the 3600 and would want to overclock so would the m22 work for that?
  15. What I’m now thinking of doing is attempting to get a 3060 on launch day (because that will probably be the only time they will be relatively close to MSRP) and if I can’t get that, but a used 5600xt and use that until the next gen comes out in like 1.5-2 years cause by the time prices for this generation stabilise it will probably be at most a bit over a year till that or maybe get 6600xt when it’s out. I’m also going to guess based on what AMD has been doing recently that they might actually beat nvidia with rx7000.
  16. Hi, I am currently trying to find a gpu for around £350 U.K. and due to obvious reasons, struggling. I’m building a PC for 1440p gaming, but it seems like my only option for a gpu at the moment is a used 2060 or 5600xt. My question is, are they good enough for 1440p gaming until prices normalise and I can sell it and get a RTX 3000/ RX 6000 card or would it be better to spend more now and skip this generation.
  17. I am looking for a new gpu and given the current situation am really struggling. I’m trying to find a card to play at 1440p and will most likely upgrade to RTX 40 when it comes out. At the moment, even second hand 2070 supers are £500 in the UK which seems ridiculous. I’m looking for something closer to £420 or less. From what I can tell I have a few different options: 1. Try and get an RTX 3060 on launch day 2. Get a second hand 1080/1080 ti and wait for RTX 40 3.Get a cheaper second hand card like RX 580 and wait for RTX 30 series prices to stabilise What do you guys think I should do?
  18. Hi, I am building a new system for 1440p gaming and am looking at getting either a 2070 super used or a rtx 3060 non ti. Are either of those good enough for 1440p gaming until rtx 40 series comes out and if so which one should I get or will they offer roughly the same level of performance based on the slides nvidia showed.
  19. I’d be paying msrp for a used 20 series
  20. Will it be enough until rtx 40/ rx 7000 comes out?
  21. Hi, I am building a new £1000 gaming system for 1440p gaming and am wondering if it will be powerful enough for my needs. I will be playing at 1440p on a high refresh monitor so I am wondering if it will be enough to get at least 90-100fps in Titles like CoD, 144 in titles like battlefront 2 and 60 in titles like RDR2 and Witcher. I know I could in theory get a 3060 ti in my budget but with current pricing I think I would struggle, which leads me on to my next points; what are the chances of me being able to get one at launch and what do they mean by “late February release”. in terms of my chances of getting one I would feel comfortable buying one of the higher end models that are close to 3060 ti MSRP if that would increase my chances (aorus, rog, etc..) since at msrp that should fit easily into my budget. If I have any chance at all of getting one, does anybody have any tips to increase my chances? For the second point, what do they mean by “late February”? Is it likely to be second half? last week? Very end of month (26th-28th)? If any of you have any idea about any of this stuff please let me know!
  22. No worries. I am going to use for gaming but since I most likely won’t be able to get over 165fps on games I play I’d rather get extra resolution.
