  2. Thx for the input lee32uk, however, I was going for the Ryzen build to get PCIe 4.0, which I believe is only available on the x570 board. Don't know the CPU cooler you've chosen, but I really like the Noctua even though it's twice the price, especially based on the review by Linus linked in an earlier post. Regarding memory, the patriot are a little bit more expensive than the G.skill. What's the reason you're suggesting these over the other? The WD blue is appx 20 % more expensive than the crucial, but I also see it's faster, and the price isn't that important at this price range.   5. I see what you're saying. Have to admit that what have kept my old build running for 9 years has been upgrading the GPU twice. Going for a Ryzen build then seems to be what will make this possible for the longest run, with PCIe 4.0. However, then I'll have to go for a x570 µATX board and there only seems to be two of those available at the moment. That makes it easier to choose I guess, but does anyone have any experience with this Mobo? How loud is the fan on that thing? Should I go for 3600 MHz RAM sticks, or keep the ones I chose for my i5 build? Is it worth going for the 3700x instead of a Ryzen 5 3600 for the additional €150?   6. Hi All! My gaming rig is primarily parts from 2011 and have been doing good so far, since my main games are SC2 and CS:GO. However, I've started playing Call of Duty Warzone and in parts of the game i go way below 60 FPS even though I upgraded my GFX to a Gigabyte GTX 1650s quite recently. So keeping the case, the monitors and the power supply I've come up with this build (Red square is was I want to buy, green is what I got already): Living in Denmark the price accumulates to a little bit above €800 and that is quite of where I want to keep it. A little about the choices: Intel Core i5-9600kf: My previous CPU was a i5-2550k running on a MAXIMUS IV GENE-Z/GEN3 | ROG motherboard, and it has performed tremendously well. Fairly easy to run it a bit overclocked with that MB, but overclocking isn't my thing, so I could be convinced to get another CPU, even Ryzen if there are good arguments. Noctua NH-U12A: I want my build to be as silent as possible. Watching Linus Tech Tips on cooling (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23vjWtUpItk) made me choose this cooler. MSI MPG Z390M: My case is micro ATX and I wanted bluetooth capability on the motherboard. G.skill ripjaws DDR4-3200: There isn't really any price difference between 2666 MHz, 3000 MHz and 3200 MHz RAM, so I chose this for dual channel and based on reviews on newegg. Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB: I remember when I first installed an SSD drive. Biggest performance boost in my life building PC's. Want to try this NVMe stuff So my question to all you experts from one, who really hasn't been building the last 9 years. Is there any issues with the chosen hardware? I feel confident, that my old Corsair PSU should be able to handle this setup, I'm I wrong? Would you recommend Ryzen instead? And which CPU and Mobo should I then choose (please notice the demand for bluetooth). Looking forward to hearing a lot of inputs Will probably put in my order in 2-3 days! Thx in advance!

  9. Hi all I have an old system (2011) which is actually still doing quite well for what I need (SC2, HoTS, CS:GO but primarily just a workstation) especially after upgrading the GPU to a GTX1650S. However, back in 2011 a SSD cost like a sh't ton of money, so could only afford a 128 GB for system disk, and then added a 1 TB HDD for movies, games etc. Now I would like to upgrade the SSD to the Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB. Of course I don't have a m.2 slot, but I have 1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x8 and 1 x PCIe 2.0 x4. My idea was to buy an PCIe 3.0 to m.2 adapter and put it in to the available PCIe 3.0/2.0 x8 slot. Would I then be able to use the full speed of this SSD? And will I be able to boot from it as well? From the Motherboard manual it says: Initial Graphic Adapter [PCIE]: Allows you to select the graphics controller as the primary boot device (Config options: [iGPU][PCIE]. Don't know, if that means, I will be able to boot from a SSD connected through PCIE? Is there any difference on the PCIe to m.2 adapters? If so, I would greatly appreciate some suggestions :) Thx in advance!
