  1. @danomicar Pretty sure my dad has a modem thats connected to our service provider, if i could somehow run a cable from there to a router in my room would that work?
  2. Also im not allowed to run cords through the walls and i can't run it through the hallway so having it direct from my dads office isn't a possibility, not sure where all the Ethernet ports in the house are the only one i know of is downstairs
  3. My house is about 4000 square feet, The only place i can really place that router looks like my basement which is 3 stories below and to the right of my house while my room is top left. Not sure if i can connect it in my dads room in any way possible. So i would need a router that can cover a LOT of space and that has fast internet speeds
  4. @The_russian So if i just bought a nighthawk but i dont wanna connect it to my internet provider and i don't have an ethernet port in my wall would that work?
  5. or would i need both like a nighthawk and a modem
  6. And with a router i dont need to connect it into an ethernet port in a wall or my service provider? i know nothing about internet stuff
  7. So my house is big and the wifi downstairs in our basement doesn't work all the way upstairs on the left side of the house in my room. My Dad has a Modem in his office that has a netgear white box connected to it and it works just fine and i wanna get a modem in my room. I dont have any Ethernet wall ports and i bought a CM700 modem and im wondering if it'll work without me connecting my service provider to it, The customer service for my provider told me i basically can't have 2 modems and she was pretty confused and now i am too. With the modem plugged into my wall can i just run a cord to my Computer and Playstation or do i need something else connected for it to work?
  8. Well i can move it to the left a bit kinda away from the shelf but i really dont wanna put it on the edge of my side desk and i can't exactly move my shelf
  9. So i have a budget of 300$ or so and i need to buy a TV/Monitor for my Playstation so i can hook it up on my Desk My family is extremely loud so im moving my playstation from my livingroom TV to my room and im wondering if i should get like a monitor or if i should get a small TV or what's some good options to order offline or go pickup in a store? Thanks! The space between my first shelf and the desk is about 16 inches so i need it to not be taller than 15 or so and i'd like it to be like 15-20 wide so i can see more of the games im playing, Any help is greatly appreciated!
  10. Alright i think i have everything i need thanks to everyone who commented
  11. Think i've tweaked it pretty good but i'm wondering if anybody has anything to say about the motherboard if i should make it like better osomething
  12. The reason i chose the be quiet case is because it's black and orange hence my favorite colors and also i have a small hole in my wall that im gonna run the cords through the walls and place my pc in there so i'm not really worried about noise i'm more worried about temps being normal since sometimes after school i'll play games for upwards of like 5 hours if i can. Everything else looks pretty good but can i run all of this with the original case i had? Or is that a bad idea? Also with 2 sticks of ram should i do that dual channel thing where i put it kinda in a skip or does it not matter?
  13. idk man fully decked out build i wanna do a lot of comp gaming and i also wanna get into coding and video editing and ram is good for that isn't it?
  14. Honestly when using PC PartPicker i didn't even see an option for an SSD. My budget is around 3000 but i can stretch that to 3.5K, What kind of SSD Should i be looking for?
