Disclaimer: I'm not 100% sure if it belongs in this Category, but i assume it's a problem with my graphics card, so here i am.
So i have a GT 430 (MSI N430GT 1Gb) in my pc right now, and from the moment i got it i've been crashing in games after a while, recently i got MSI afterburner to look for what the problem was, now there are two unusual things that keep happening
After it fluctuates in the 65-70 degrees Celcius range for a while, the game crashes. It completely freezes, however the sound keeps going and if i don't have the game windowed then i have to restart my computer. Task manager reports only that it's not responding. This happens on any game too, from the less demanding to the more demanding, unless it's something like a pixelated game or a web game this problem will occur. (Note that this card has a max temperature of 98 Degrees, however correct me if im wrong of course.)
On the other hand, sometimes it decides to lock itself to 405Mhz clock speed and run like garbage whenever i open up a game, however this seemed to only happen on the Nvidia 391.35 drivers, running the 391.01 right now though its too early to tell if this problem will still occur, its easily avoided anyway. The main problem is the first
Things i've already tried:
Updating Drivers (Did virtually nothing.)
Underclocking (Didnt fix the issue)
Turned down settings (did nothing.)
dismantled the card and cleaned out dust from it. (didn't even change the temperatures)
Turning my graphics to high performance
Adjusting the Fan curve
Things i suspect could be why:
Case has bad airflow (though the temperatures could hardly be causing it.)
So my ultimate question is going to be if anyone knows what the problem could be, and maybe how to fix it?c
