  1. Disclaimer: I'm not 100% sure if it belongs in this Category, but i assume it's a problem with my graphics card, so here i am. So i have a GT 430 (MSI N430GT 1Gb) in my pc right now, and from the moment i got it i've been crashing in games after a while, recently i got MSI afterburner to look for what the problem was, now there are two unusual things that keep happening After it fluctuates in the 65-70 degrees Celcius range for a while, the game crashes. It completely freezes, however the sound keeps going and if i don't have the game windowed then i have to restart my computer. Task manager reports only that it's not responding. This happens on any game too, from the less demanding to the more demanding, unless it's something like a pixelated game or a web game this problem will occur. (Note that this card has a max temperature of 98 Degrees, however correct me if im wrong of course.) On the other hand, sometimes it decides to lock itself to 405Mhz clock speed and run like garbage whenever i open up a game, however this seemed to only happen on the Nvidia 391.35 drivers, running the 391.01 right now though its too early to tell if this problem will still occur, its easily avoided anyway. The main problem is the first Things i've already tried: Updating Drivers (Did virtually nothing.) Underclocking (Didnt fix the issue) Turned down settings (did nothing.) dismantled the card and cleaned out dust from it. (didn't even change the temperatures) Turning my graphics to high performance Adjusting the Fan curve Things i suspect could be why: Case has bad airflow (though the temperatures could hardly be causing it.) So my ultimate question is going to be if anyone knows what the problem could be, and maybe how to fix it?c
  2. - Not including Monitor, Mouse and Keyboard. - Im building a budget Gaming Rig Centered around a Ryzen 5 2600, don't have a clear picture of some parts though so i was hoping for some help figuring out what to get and opinions on what im getting for now, (Trying to stay around or under £600, if thats not possible please indulge me to a more reasonable price range, im not really an expert at this). Not planning to play triple A titles with Ultra graphics by any means, just enough to get a good experience. Current Plans: Cpu: Amd Ryzen 5 2600 - £110 (Cooler Included) Motherboard: Asus Prime B450M-A - £70 Chassis: Metallicgear 520 Series Neo Air (with an Added fan) - £64 Ram: G.Skills Ripjaws (16Gb) £81 Psu: Undecided Gpu: Undecided, but my guts tell me an Rx580 is the right choice. Ssd/Hdd: Undecided (Ssd or Hdd??)
  3. OOOOOH! That explains so much, i DID read that the front fan acts as the cpu fan aswell... So Should i be replacing my front fan or the Heatsink? And i hope that these Optiplex things can cool 95w Or i'd be wasting my money.
  4. Again, ive attempted it, but it's all Seperate Heat Sinks and Fans, which arent even the same set, so hardly compatible.
  5. Looked for a while now, I Can't find any of the fans you addressed, never mind a btx fan that both fits and cools a q9650.
  6. so will this motherboard support standard coolers? or will not, im not trying to be pushy, but i really dont want this thread to die.
  7. Alright so, it's from the Dell Xps 430, Its the G254H. It came with the DN004 Cooler. Cant provide an inside image of my pc so i found this image of the MoBo
  8. I'm not 100% sure... How? I'm trying to look for btx Coolers But its just sketchy websites, and ebay just seems full of standard coolers. And what am i meant to use a zip tie for... sorry if i sound clueless but i kindof am.
  9. Ive been trying to find this out for a while now, but i cant find any information on it, im running a q9650 and trying to get a cooler for it but my MoBo is a Btx Motherboard, do i need a specific kind of Cooler for that? or can i use the standard cooling systems?
  10. I'm using a Btx Xps 430 Motherboard, a Core 2 q9650 and a 375w Psu, was considering buying a 750 Ti but according to upgrade recommendations from sites such as PcBenchMark i've come under the assumption that the q9650 can do with a better Gpu? Is this true? Furthermore what kind of Gpu would maximise the performance of the q9650? (Without keeping it at 100% usage at all times), I know theres a thread on the overclocked version of the cpu but i dont plan on meddling with that due to me wanting to make the most of the Cpu's lifespan.
  11. Yeah, i think it'll fit, the current Gpu (Gt 430 1024mb) Fits and even if it was longer it would go under the stock fan, and im getting an Asus Choten Cooler which is smaller than the stock one. And a side note... What'dya mean by Crazy-ass Mobo, is it cuz they're rare? Or am i missing something unusual about my pal, the 775 Xps 430 MoBo
  12. Right, so im driving a little Pentium Duo E5700 (Planning to upgrade to a q9650) on a Dell Xps 430 MoBo, (Dunno what it's actually called) and im wondering two things, 1. Will the 750 actually go in and function? And 2. How much of a bottleneck, if it really does work out should i be expecting from a non OC q9650? Im Not techsavvy enough to know what else actually goes into the Gpu compatibility but ill list the main hardware that i think is involved Dell Xps 430 Motherboard q9650 (I'll have this by the time i have the Gpu) 375w Psu Dell Xps 430 Case (don't want it to just not fit) 8 Gigs of DDR3 Ram 1333 MHz 4 pin Atx 12v Connecter (?, im not 100% sure on that part)
