  1. What cables should I check specifically? It's powered because the fan is on, and I firmly checked the 6 and 6+2 pin pci's
  2. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6KXXGX This is my build, and I know the MOBO, GPU, CPU, and RAM are good because I was using them in a previous build before I upgraded and swapped to intel. I tried to fix my black display by: 1) putting the HDD into my main PC and installing windows and then installing all of the GPU's drivers off of both the AMD and the ASUS website, none were duplicate downloads. 2) I tried swapping the GPU ports. My MOBO has 4, I tried the first 3 of them, the 4th one is too low and would clash with my GPU 3) I tried different display cables, including HDMI, Display Port, and VGA through one of those tiny white adapter pieces because it doesn't just have a regular VGA spot on the GPU. 4) I tried different displays, including my main monitor and my older monitor that only has a VGA spot, and I tried my laptop as a monitor too. Am I missing something? What would you try if you were me. Thank you to all who comment back on this, the help is truly appreciated
  3. Woooo! That's plenty for now. Also, I'm missing almost alllll the cables, because I used them with my new PC build, and the old PC that had those parts and the cables was given to me by my awesome geeky father. I'm curious how I can get the cables necessary for this build, and what cables I would need

Edit: Total build in pcpartpicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6KXXGX
  6. Ahhhh, I see what you meant. Thanks, that's good to know! Now I just have to get the other things.
  7. I assumed "budget meant cheapest without suffering performance gaps" if no price range was specified.
  8. sure, let me just go ahead and give him a PC with no mouse, keyboard, monitor, operating system, and case. Lmao
  9. 1080p As efficient as possible. The least amount of money that can be spent without suffering performance gaps. Online, I have amazon prime but if PCPARTPICKER shows another place as cheaper then I would follow.
  10. So I just got my best friend who goes to UGA into CS:GO but his current PC just isn't doing it. I have some (somewhat old) parts that I'd like to use if they could keep 60fps in CS:GO. Let me know and add on to my list of parts with the necessities. I want to give this to him as a birthday gift from his best bro, help make a dream come true! CPU - AMD Phenom™ II X6 Black 1090t RAM - 2g X 4 Corsair Dominator 1333hz MOBO - Asus Crosshair IV Formula GPU - Asus Radeon HD 5850 Cooler - Zalman CNPS9900 with blue led I need a keyboard, mouse, monitor, windows 8.1, PSU, a harddrive, and a case. Love you guys!
