  1. Yeah, 8 core would be great but thinking of getting a tower to do the hard core rendering, I'm at the start of buying the systems and have a PC atm but isn't the quickest. As I, and the software company don't run any tests (I used to work there) I'm not sure what components will help - is there anyway to check using some sort of benchmark??
  2. Hi guys Not sure if this is the right location to post this! I use a specialist CAD software, VW. I know a Pc would be better but need a laptop to run and render images. The software annoyingly apparantly runs on CPU only and doesn’t use the GPU at all although when I HWMonitor while rendering my PC uses 5% GPU. Im thinking an i7 9750H with 1660ti 2070 max q as I would like to use the Oculus 4D in the future (but will buy a machine to specialise) https://www.virtualworlds.co.uk/computer-specifications/ Firstly - is there a software I can run alongside rendering to see what everything is running at?? I know more cores = quicker times - watched lots of vids last few months but don’t know loads and stuck! I want to know if 32gb is over kill and whether it’s worth going for a HK to force the turbo on cad or its something the software has to accept if you get me?? if anyone has recommended machines But don’t worry if not as I can look once I know for certain what specs I need - love the look of the Gs65 stealth gold as sometimes am with clients but £2000 a bit over budget for this one 1500 would be perfect but seen some amazing specs for 900-1200 but not sure if good enough! Thanks in advance Reply to post: Yeah, 8 core would be great but thinking of getting a tower to do the hard core rendering, I'm at the start of buying the systems and have a PC atm but isn't the quickest.
