Yeah i'll take that L. I always held off from getting a extra drive til I had the money to spare now it bit me in the ass. Lesson learned I guess

Thats my last resort at this point I'll see how it goes tomorrow. Never thought I'd go through this much trouble building my first pc.

Well after doing some digging i found out my power supply seemed to short out one of the diodes on the hdd and its silent and not spinning anymore, I used a multimeter to find the bad diode and pulled it off but I still don't get a response from it though. I downloaded the utilities but that didnt help either.

I get this error Everytime I connect it via adapter and it won't appear in the firmware scanner for me to update it

Yeah I wanted to do a hdd to save money but after this, whether I get my files back or not it'll be the first and last time I use a hdd

I'm about to try, hoping it help...

Yeah that was the second thing I did but nothing, I really hope that's not the case, if so I may be SoL

I didn't see any wd tools come with drive when I installed it

Windows is on the m.2 drive, the 2tb internal hdd was just for games and movies

I just got a new 2tb hdd by WD for my new PC and was able to assign it a drive letter and copy files on it, but after the 3rd boot up it doesn't appear in windows anymore. I tried checking the disk manager, but it doesn't appear there anymore, but it appears in bios? I also tried using a hdd adapter and connected to other PCs, I get the same result. Can anybody help me out, I really don't want to lose my files.
