  1. Just cleaned and new paste about two months ago. I am doing a new install of windows in case I got some bad microcode from somewhere and the system is still acting very sluggish, throttling even though temps are in the 30c
  2. Asus A15 Tuf I was doing my normal thing, running lightburn for my CNC Laser and play a relatively easy game and all of the sudden my system goes into to limp mode. I close down all my apps and get ready for a restart. When my system comes back up, HWInfo says I am thermal throttled and it's just pinned at YES even at 50c. With nothing open or running, the system is a complete slide show. Thoughts?
  3. They owe us Nothing! Why waste time and effort posting community posts on the very platform that was hit? Why post anything!!! On the dumpster fire that is Twitter, stop giving that idiot anything! I'd love to see some hugely impactful negative thing happen at your work and see how you respond. Don't quarterback from an arm chair. You'll get answers on the wan show should their channel be up and running by then. Oh and you better believe they know that the non floatplaners pay more of their bills. The reason they were updated is it's Their platform, you know, the one that wasn't hit...
  4. Its more the warning that it is not Authenticated. I would prefer that be back to green status until a drive actually hits the degraded status. If that is always degraded, I will never look at it. I checked the smart logs on all the drives and they are all pretty healthy so it would be great for that notification to be reset so that it can actually function as intended.
  5. I tried to do a search to see if anyone else has posted about this and couldn't find anything. I acquired a HP DL360p Gen8 used server to begin my home lab journey. It came with two 300gb 10k sas drives that authenticate as genuine HP components. I since have installed two 1tb 7.2k sata drives, those also authenticate as they use the drive sleds. I have two additional drives, one 750gb 5.2k sata and a 320 5.2k sata that are not in the drive sleds and obviously do not authenticate as genuine. What I am hoping the community can help me with is if there is a way to disable the warning shown below. I am one of those people that when I see a notification or Icon I just have to fix it. Short of buying more used drives, I am hoping there is a way to disable that warning. Thank you all for your time.
  6. I will give this a shot. If only I could find my darn vga cable!
  7. So I am new to the whole home lab thing. Just got myself a Proliant DL360p G8 server and wanted to run Proxmox. I am connected via iLO using the THML5 Console as I cannot for the life of me find a VGA cable in my house and I am impatient. I slowing got through the install process as it took a few seconds for keystrokes to register. Everything booted up and I loaded up the local IP web gui, just to find out that whatever password I did type, the system lagged enough that I have no idea what actually registered. Well, now I am stuck trying to reinstall proxmox, which apparently I cannot do?! Everytime it boots the installer via USB or ISO mounted on the virtual CD drive, it just loads proxmox and prompts me for the password that I cannot figure out. How, does one, reinstall proxmox? My current idea is to install something like TrueNAS which wipes the drives (which is fine this is the very first thing I am doing with the server) and then install proxmox over that???
  8. Pulled the trigger on the Unifi AP AC lite. I love it. It has made my life easier and I don't get devices randomly dropping. The features on this thing are fantastic. Thanks everyone
  9. Something like the US-AC-LITE-US? It's a bit slower on the 5ghz than my current router but can handle a boatload of clients.
  10. Do you have a recommendation on a good wireless ap that can handle large number of devices?
  11. That's a good idea, I could get one that has the features I want that the one I have now didn't have.
  12. I purchased my own as I hate renting.
  13. They are already about half and half. Still have disconnect issues during high use.
  14. 30 of them are wifi (light switches and garage door opener and cameras) no moving them to wired.
  15. I do have issues with devices dropping when the load picks up, which is now higher more often since my wife and I are working from home. I went with a combo as it was cheaper than two separate devices. If I could find a modem with docsis 3.1 and a router that could handle up to 50 devices for under 200 total, i could convert.
