  1. I now tried with a different GPU, but the same problem occurs. The issue started immediately after buying the board, just like on the replacement one; I now checked the cable again, but it's fine; I tried with the USB Tethering functionality of my phone, but it seems to be working correctly.
  2. First of all thank you all for the help. I checked and it does ground properly. Just in case, I also tried to connect the computer to another power wallsocket in another part of the house, but the same problem occurs. I do have a spare GPU, I will try to use that one later. I'll be busy for about three hours. I also tried disabling Fast Boot, but the same problem occurs (also, I'm running an HDD and no SSDs)
  3. Unfortunately i don't have a replacement PSU, nor an add-in card, though i'm pretty sure the latter will work. Now that i think of it, i get some noise on the speakers which are connected to the rear speakers output, especially under certain GPU loads. It might as well be a grounding problem, if that can cause problems to the Ethernet cable. What would you do to check if it's grounded? The only thing i can confirm is that the plug's ground is touching the wall socket's ground correctly. But a thought that comes to mind is, if the connection is completely stable after managing to get the first connection, can it really be such a problem? Shouldn't improper grounding also affect the working connection?
  4. Hello this has gone on for two months now, so i hope to find help here. After every startup i have to disable and re-enable the Ethernet controller multiple (sometimes once, sometimes five) times before being able to connect to the network, rendering me unable to communicate with any device on the network (not even the Router). In Network Connections, i sometimes read "Unidentified Network" under the Ethernet connection, other times simply "No Internet". In both cases, i can't communicate with any device on the network (ping, connect to router/switch management page, etc). So, apparently no Ethernet connection takes place. The motherboard is a MSI B450 Mortar Max, which has a Realtek RTL8111H-CG Ethernet Controller. I tried to (in chronological order): Check if the problem is created by the Router/Switch, but other devices on the network work fine and have no problem, and another computer connecting over the same Ethernet cable set up in the same ports doesn't have this problem; moreover, using a different Router and ethernet cable has almost the same problem (explained after point 15). Boot from a Linux distro. I tried some (not enough) times, and at this time i thought the problem occurred only on Windows, but i later figured out it does actually happen on Linux too (read 10) Install the Ethernet Controller drivers downloaded from the product downloads page Do a network reset and let windows automatically install the controller drivers; Disable DHCP and connect with a manual configuration; Use Windows Troubleshooting; Update the BIOS to the latest version. Receive support on Microsoft Answers (none of the changes worked thus i reverted all the changes) Contact MSI support. First they asked me if i could see the MAC address (which i can see), then they suggested reinstalling Windows. While i was booting from a Linux distro another time, the same problem occured; At this point i thought it could be an hardware problem. Reinstall Windows 10. Get the motherboard replaced (as suggested by MSI support) but the same exact problem occurs. Receive support on MSI's subreddit. Disable all power-saving features of the ethernet controller, and manually set the link speed. (everything reverted) Set boot mode to UEFI (the motherboard defaults to UEFI/Legacy). I noted that when disabling all the power-saving features (Green Ethernet, Energy Efficient Ethernet, Power saving mode) of the ethernet controller or when using Windows's drivers, or when using the older router, the connection works for 10 to 15 seconds, then degrades and then stops working (at which point ping 192.168.1.1 outputs "General Failure"). Just like before, i have to cycle the Ethernet Controller to get a working connection. At this point, the MSI support said they don't know how to solve the issue.
