  1. I am using chrome to do work and I have no more than 5 tabs at a time but every now and then for like 5 minutes I will get a "Error: Ran out of ran: message from chrome. In task manager it says only 6-7gb of my 16gb of ram is in use. My ram is 16gb rated at 3000mghz but running at 2667mghz since I don't know hot to OC it. Any ideas?
  2. Thanks for all the help, I think in the end I will be getting a new mobo. Thanks for all the help!
  3. GMOD, Max Settings, and it is system ram. I have 16gb of 3000mghz ram but in bios it says it cant go above 2666 and no xmp is avalible.
  4. Did some more searching and apparently it’s an error on speccy’s side. Did cpu-z and it said 6gb.
  5. I recently started getting error messages about not having enough ram to continue, frame drops and just straight up not being able to run my favorite games. I started looking at my task manager during gaming sessions and I was barley peaking 50% usage on any thing even during frame drops and out of ram error moments. I want to know how I can fix this and start getting higher more consistent frames and be able to use all my computers specs. 6. Budget (including currency): 1200 CAD (After Tax) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, Minecraft, School Work, Streaming, Editing, Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have no existing parts, No peripherals are needed, I'm upgrading from a best buy 1050 2gb prebuilt, I want to buy ASAP to get it in before Christmas time and have prime so if they all have prime shipping that's awesome!, The highest frames and hz possible with this budget. After tax as mentioned above is important. Thanks!
  7. Sorry. Better? Also will I need thermal paste or does the cooler baster come with thermal paste applied?
  8. Budget (including currency): 800 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rocket League, Streaming, School Work, Light Video Editing, Destiny 2, COD. Other details: The parts marked as purchased in the ca.pcpartpicker.com parts list (CPU, MOBO, 1tb HDD) need to stay the same but everything else can change. I have been gaming on a 1050 2gb and noticeably old i5. Really looking for an upgrade and I think this is it. Any help is greatly appreciated even if its just saying that these parts work together! Another question I have is since I have windows already on the hdd how do I transfer it to the ssd safely? Thanks. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/3TbWDc
  9. What problems will I encounter with the RAM and ill see to upgrade the MOBO.
  10. Built this computer around a MOBO and CPU that I alreayd have as I am trying to make a VR ready pc whilst also having enough money to buy a Oculus Rift CV1 for 480 CAD. This build does not need to be set in stone if any body has other better builds. The only requirement is it is within 100 of 1100 CAD and leave 480 CAD for a Rift. Thank for the help! All part a preferably bought from amazon. I live in Canada. 11. Thanks for the suggestion although I made a deal with someone for a full vive set for around 350 so im hoping to buy that.
  12. Budget (including currency): 700 CAD (When buying from amazon) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CSGO, Valorant, Rocket League, VR (Gorn, Super Hot, Beat Saber and many more), Heaviest game probably is GTA 5 or Destiny 2. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I already have the MOBO and CPU in the parts list and one personal HDD with about 700gb free. No peripherals are needed at the time. I am upgrading from a best buy prebuilt which I swapped out the MOBO and CPU on but everything is else is super cheap china parts from best buy. I can buy whenever although if there are any good deals on I might try and buy sooner. I currently play at 75hz and 75-100fps happily although hoping to upgrade to a 144hz monitor later. Hoping to buy all of it from amazon so my budget needs to be when checking out excluding shipping. I technically have a 1100-1200 CAD budget but need some money to buy a used Vive or Oculus if you have any recommendations for VR that's awesome too! Thanks for all the help in advance. 13. Thank you for these tips I’ll keep them in mind for later on. Sadly my gpu displays no output so I can’t do anything troubleshooting that way. I know I’ll at least need a new gpu and mobo (to fit a new gpu) so I should be good there and maybe a new psi but if my hdd and other things are fine 500 should be more that enough. As well I have found some used deals!
  14. Budget (including currency) $400-500 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Rainbow Six Siege, Fall Guys, Chrome Games. Light school work like google docs and zoom. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have all the peripherals I need just the pc needs fixing! I have a 75hz 5ms monitor right now so that should be an easy check mark. Not existing parts. Hello! My Name is Ryan and I have had a Best Buy prebuilt for about 2.5 years until 2 days ago. First off I know a Best Buy prebuilt is bad so I’ll never do it again lol. The story behind the brick is when I was preparing to leave for my family cottage my PC was updating everything and my power went out. One of those 1-2 second outages but enough to stop the update in its tracks. After booting up after the incident my WiFi and audio was completely messed up. It’s a long story but in the end I reinstalled windows. After finishing the install all I did was download chrome and turn it off for the day. When I woke up the next day it was not giving signal to my monitor. After removing and replugging in my Graphics card and Ram to no avail I took it in to Best Buy to see what the problem is. They said multiple thing (Pretty much everything but the power supply) was broken and needed replacing. The brings us to right now. As said above I have $400-500 CAD to work with and no extra parts and all the peripherals I need. No wanting grams above 75 to match my hz and nothing fancy but will get the job done. I made a lost of something I like and would appreciate revisions, suggestions or completely different builds! Thanks for everything in advance.
