Even if it is 1/4 inches, that is enough gap for air intake, which is what the fans do.

Can you see what the difference is between the 2 slots in BIOS? If you can see if you can replicate the lower slot config on the top slot, and test.

I would I go about doing that?   Sorry, I'm very new to this!  Lol.  Thanks for your help

  2. Ok.  I'm getting somewhere!!    I uninstalled the GPU from the system and plugged HDMI back to the motherboard.  Audio was back with option to toggle between speakers and monitor.  AMD HD audio back in device manager.   I have 2 pci-e x16 slots.  One is 2.0 and one is 3.0.   I put the GPU back in but in the 2.0 slot this time.  IT WORKED!!!!   Problem is that slot is at bottom of the case and leaves no air flow ( like only 1/4 inch from bottom).  What should I do now?!?!?

For the same price as a GTX 1050 Ti, an RX 470/570/480/580 is a much better options (the latter two being the best), but I couldn't really recommend these videocards (including the 1050 Ti) on that power supply.

Have you bought that PSU already? As I would recommend a new Corsair CX450/CX550 or Be Quiet Pure Power 11 450/550W over that PSU.

    Yes already bought

Absolutely not. The RX 570 can be found for the same price and absolutely crushes the 1050 Ti. The 1050 Ti sucks.

What about this then?   It's on sale?

Do you have a specific model number, like BQ, BW, G2, etc. etc. as EVGA has a lot of different PSU's which range from really good to really bad.

Looking at US eBay, it seems like the GTX 1050 Ti goes for between 70 and 110 US dollars. Most are at 90-100 USD.

Doesn't look like a special deal.

Seems like RX 480/580 cards (excluding the mining cards) for around 90-100 USD too, which might be an option too if you have a decent PSU. The RX 480/580 has  better performance too.

I just built a budget system.  Ryzen 3 3400g.  Msi tomahawk max motherboard.   Do u recommend the 1050ti or look into a rx 480 or 580?

Does that motherboard have wifi and Bluetooth?  I like the rest.  Kinda what I was thinking.   Is the Ryzen 5 3400 worth the extra money over the Ryzen 3 3200g?
