  1. @JoostinOnline Hey, to summarize what you guys have been saying: To upgrade the performance I'd have to choose between: 1. Get a i7-4770k (and overclock)(and get more RAM) 2. Replace motherboard and: - Get an AMD setup - Get an Intel setup I compared the i7-4770k with the current CPU, and it seems that the CPU mark rating is around twice as good. I think I'm going to look into the CPU upgrade only, just for the sake of exploration and comparison, are there any CPU's which are a bit more lower-end than the i7-4770k but still better than the current CPU (i3-4160)?
  2. Yeah, the motherboard I bought back then was of the older kind.
  3. So considering my motherboard has a 1150 socket, I am limited to older intel processors. I prefer to hold off on an overal revamp of my rig as of right now, since I find it to still run reasonably well on the games I play (Witcher 3, LoL (just tested, around 120 fps at 80%cpu and 30%gpu, with 90% or more RAM), indie games and upcoming Cyberpunk 2077). I am mainly looking for an upgrade which covers a 2/3 year gap and giving a bit of an improvement.
  4. Thanks for the swift respones. I prefer a more long-term solution (at least 2 years), so I'd rather buy a good CPU now. I live in the Netherlands and I'm prepared to spend up to €150/200. And is it really necessary to upgrade the entire rig? Or is just upgrading CPU, and GPU later enough?
  5. Hey all, I built my pc around 3 years ago and I'm now looking to increase performance (which was already pretty good), considering upcoming games like Cyberpunk 2077 and the ever increasing minimum requirements. Currently I use: RAM: D3 8GB 1600-10 Fury Black IDIF77EF CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 3600 1150 GPU: Asus4GB D5 x GTX970-DCMOC Motherboard: Asro Z97 Pro4 I've seen from experience the CPU often being maxed out, while also RAM occassionally spikes. The PC-Builder site mentioned that I have a bottleneck at the GPU-side of 46%, which is a lot. Therefore I have the following questions: 1. Would upgrading my CPU give a significant performance boost? Seeing the bottleneck I'd assume this is the case. 2. When can the motherboard be a limiting factor, I have never heard of this but wanted to check. 3. What are good new CPU's? The site itself recommends AMD FX-8350 or Intel Core i7-3770, but is this an exact match to my GPU? I'd rather overshoot my CPU a bit and have the bottleneck then ofc in the GPU. 4. Can I install AMD CPU's in this motherboard? I really don't know what to look for 5. Currently I have access to 8GB dual RAM, and the recommended amount is 8GB of RAM, so would it be wise to upgrade a bit? Sorry if I asked foolish questions, but I am terribly inexperienced in both PC-building and the English language, therefore my apologies for any mistakes. Thanks for any help given.
