Hey all, I’ve been doing some research on compatible CPU’s with the gigabyte G1 Gaming GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 mobo as I picked up a second hand gaming rig that’s got that in it. I was looking at the gigabyte website and it says the motherboard is 4th and 5th gen intel core i5 and i7 compatible but couldn’t find much information on the 5th gen compatible side.
the mobo currently has a 4770k processor in it and was looking to upgrade to like a 5930k as that is a “5th gen” processor but it app rests to be a socket 2011 and not a 1150. Is there a difference between the 2 socket types?
