  1. So my new rig is a few months old. It's a R5 3600 system with a CoolerMaster MasterAir MA610P in a Meshify C case. It get's the job done and never comes above 80 degrees during gaming. The cooler however is pretty huge and the tempered glass gets really warm because part of the hot air gets blown directly on it. So I kinda want to replace the aircooler with a AIO in the near future. I have room for a top mounted 240 radiator I like shiny white rgb (sorry) I don't really like the square blocks of the Corsair models My system runs stock and I don't plan to do overclockingW After doing some homework I narrowed it down to two options: NZXT Kraken X53 RGB Fractal Design Celsius+ s24 Prism I really like the simplicity, cleanliness and ease of use of the Fractal one. However, the NZXT is a tried and tested reliable cooler. What would you pick and why?
  2. So I got my new build up and running this week (Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 2070 Super) which I plan on using for 1440p gaming. I plan on selling my old pc (with 1080p monitors) so I roughly have a 500 euro budget for a new monitor. So far my picks have been narrowed down to the: Acer Predator XB271HUA LG UltraGear 27GL850 Both cost 499, are 27", have a 144mhz refresh rate and get excellent reviews. So besides the Acer being a bit older, what's the big difference between these two? What would you guys/ladies recommend? Or do you have other recommendations, for example safe some money and opt for a AOC AGON AG271QX instead?

Opted for a MA610P CPU fan instead of a the MA410M due to the improved performance (for only a 5 euro difference) Opted for a Kingston A2000 instead of the EVO (Plus). According to reviews the Kingston is more then enough for a user like me, the Evo+ was recommended more for productivity users. Also in NL the regular SSD drives are similarly priced as these M.2 drives, so I stayed with M.2. The money saved on the M.2 was put towards upgrading the ROG STRIX B450-F motherboard to an -E version (wifi, M.2 heatsink and better VRM heatsinks) All in all I am pretty happy with this build, great looks, should perform great and kinda within budget. I can always get the case fans and extra HDD at a later date depending on my spending at the time (taxes and yearly car checkup coming up). Now here's the thing. I opted for a Ryzen 5 3600 because it offers great bang for buck for a gamer like me in 2020. With the announcing of the AMD Ryzen 4000 series later this year I am expecting the prices of the current high end 3900/3950 CPU's to go down in the future. So in a year or two I could always get a CPU upgrade "on the cheap". Now I read that the X450 board should be able to run a 3900/3950 (after bios upgrade ofc.). I also read that these CPU's run allot hotter then the 3600, hence the ROG STRIX B450-E mobo with improved VRM heatsinks. Ooorrrr I could go for option number two: Get a X570 based build: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor €178.95 @ Azerty CPU Cooler Cooler Master MasterAir MA610P 53.38 CFM CPU Cooler €64.95 @ Azerty Motherboard MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard €239.00 @ Azerty Memory G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory €217.00 @ Azerty Storage Kingston A2000 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive €90.99 @ Azerty Storage Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive €43.44 @ Azerty Video Card MSI GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING X Video Card €579.00 @ Azerty Case Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case €89.95 @ Azerty Power Supply be quiet! So what would you people recommend? Stick with the ASUS X450 combo cause it could handle a stock 3900 down the line anyway and save the money. Opt for the slightly more expensive MSI X570 combo because it would handle a 3900 much better in the long run.
  4. Yeah I do. I know I can save some money by buying from different vendors but I prefer to keep it with just one for warranty reasons.
  5. @Fasauceome the 500gb versions of the WD and Kingston cost around the same here (91 vs 86) but the kingston has slightly higher read/write speeds so that's why I went with that one.
  6. Thank you all for the replies. Dropped the 970 Evo+ from my planning and opted for a Kingston A2000 500 GB instead. Saved 40 eur which will be used to get better motherboard instead.
  7. Thinking about getting a 500gb 970 for my new pc, is the 15% price difference between the EVO and EVO Plus justified? It's going to be used for gaming only and I have a HDD for the other storage.
  8. Updated picklist: Fractal Design Meshify C 850w Gold Plus modular PSU (Already owned) AMD Ryzen 7 3600 (non x) MSI Core Frozr S (To replace the stock cooler, aesthetics) MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC MSI Geforce RTX 2070 Super Gaming X 16 GB (2x8) G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200 Mhz (Instead of 3000 Mhz) Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm (instead of 2 TB) Total build cost 1420 Euro instead of 1414. Price could hopefully go down as a result of Nvidia reacting to the 5700 XT. 4 months remaining, hyped like a kid for Christmas.
  9. I was looking at MSI too, the reason why I picked the Asus combo was because they look really great. A MSI mobo/cpu/fan combo is now possible because of the money saved by opting for the 3600.
  10. Current specs: So my old pc is turning six and she is starting to show her age, my cpu fan has already been replaced with a pwm case fan, the occasional bsod, having problems keeping up in new AAA games (aka low fps) etc. So it's time for her to retire and get a new one (In 4 months). Intel i7-4770 3,4GHz 16 Gb DDR3 Crucial M500 240GB SSD (OS and most games) WD Blue 1TB HDD 7200rpm (Backup, personal files, downloads etc) MSI Z87-G45 Gaming MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G Coolermaster Silencio case CX 550 Watt psu Dual Asus VE248 Lifespan: I don't upgrade that often, it should get me going for another 5-6 years. Looks: My old pc's have all been grey/black boxes sitting below my desk, I really only cared what appeared on my screens. For my new pc I plan on putting it on my desk, so looks do matter (And RGB gives additional fps right?) Current usage: 75%: Gaming in 1080p (Guild Wars 2, World of Tanks, Witcher 3) 25% browsing, looking at twitch/youtube/tv on my 2nd monitor No OC-ing or tinkering Predicted usage: 75%: Gaming in 1440p (Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal etc). 25% browsing, looking at twitch/youtube/tv on my 2nd monitor No OC-ing or tinkering Current planned build (1414 Euro, Netherlands): Fractal Design Meshify C 850w Gold Plus modular PSU (Already owned) AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with stock Wraith Prism cooler 16 GB (2x8) G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3000 Mhz (Upgrade to 3200Mhz is +27 Euro) Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2060 Super (I know the AMD 5700XT offers great bang-for-buck but I get nam-flashbacks just thinking about their drivers, plus I like the Nvidia features) Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm Future upgrades (In order): Adding RGB case fans Upgrading at least one my monitors for 1440p gaming Add 16 GB of ram (after a few years) Most likely upgrade the GPU (after a few years) I saved up for a long time and 1400-ish euro is the absolute max I am willing to spent, I need to pay rent and eat as well. When it comes to hardware and other expensive items do I go for quality though and prefer to save up a bit longer if that means getting a better product. Now here is where the trouble starts: I binged YT vids for two weeks and read reviews to pick the parts that I think fit my needs best and for the most part I am happy with my picks. But then the CPU came into the picture, I'm having serious doubts if I should go for the 3700X (309 Euro) or go for the much cheaper 3600 (169 Euro) and use the saved money to get a Corsair H115i RGB PLATINUM (140 Euro) for that clean looking case. What would you recommend? And how is the maintenance/quality/lifespan of a product like the H115i?
