  1. This is what i am considering........ (Prices in AUD)
  2. Hi, I am looking to update my current system: GPU: 1080 (Will upgrade when funds become available) Basically i run VR for simracing (iRacing) and play FPS's, also use my system for work, mainly report writing and some very basic Autocad and Photoshop stuff. iRacing with VR is very resource and CPU heavy and the following is from a reddit thread to potentially help guide any suggestions. "There's one thread for physics/systems, and one for rendering. The rendering thread is the bottleneck due to the way DX11 rendering works." My budget is about $1,700.00 (AUD) $1,148.95 (USD) So obviously my choices for CPU are 8700K, 9700k, 9900K or R9 3900X I prefer Intel.......... however if the gains are significant from the Ryzen chip then i don't see a reason why i wouldn't change teams. My current system has lasted me about 6 years with a GPU and RAM upgrade and am hoping i could get similar from this upgrade. So if i was to go with the 3900X or 9900K, i am wondering which is likely to last longer before an upgrade is required. So once i have chosen my CPU, i obviously need to get my Mobo and RAM. Suggested Mobo's for each CPU with a google search seem to be all over the place and i cant land on one that stands out, that said i don't feel i need to spend mega bucks on a mobo, as i will likely never utilize it to full capacity and essentially my needs are pretty basic, all i want is a good amount of options, functionality, USB's and longevity. (Leaning toward the Gigabyte Aorus Master) Though it is $$$$$. Also i will look to overclock my system, i have never done this before so i don't really know what i need to be considering. For RAM i am willing to spend if there are significant gains to be had, i am not very clued up on RAM frequency and how the Mobo and the CPU contribute to memory usage so i really need help in this department. So i guess the question is, What is the best CPU, Mobo, RAM Combination for $1,700. 00 AUD right now? (CPU cooling will be required as well, was looking at the Noctua NH-D15 Multi-Socket PWM CPU Cooler) Thanks for taking the time to read and appreciate any help. Regards
