  1. Thanks for all the reccomendations and help, I'll check those coolers out for sure
  2. My current machine has the Gigabyte B450 Gaming X for its motherboard, and a DeepCool DA600 for the PSU. In terms of cooling, I have the NZXT H500i, with the two fans it comes with, as well as the stock cooler for the 7 2700 (Wraith Stealth I believe) I imagine the current cooling isn't that bad, and I haven't had any serious issues with it, but I would like to upgrade it somewhat as my PC does run rather warm. My current motherboard does have one NVMe slot, so I could re-use it, however I was hoping to have two separate NVMe drives to mitigate data loss if one happens to fail. I think I'd probably not want to upgrade my GPU atm, since it seems to work fine for my needs. I imagine upgrading in the future, when I may need the extra performance, will be less expensive as well
  3. Budget: $1000-$1300 CAD (ideally around $1200) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I play a number of 3D indie games (Risk of Rain 2, Deep Rock Galactic, Valheim), as well as space games like No Man's Sky, and Star Citizen. I have a PCVR setup as well, and usually play physics heavy games like Bone(works/lab) I also do a fair bit of programming work, lots of web browsing, and infrequent video/photo editing/3D work Other details: I am upgrading from an existing PC, which has a Ryzen 7 2700, not so great cooling, a harddrive, and 2.5" SSD. My main motivations for this upgrade were to improve the cooling, and get a faster storage solution, as well as a CPU upgrade. I already have peripherals and use one monitor which runs at 1080p 144hz, and don't plan to upgrade. I would ideally like to purchase the new PC components sometime in the next 2 weeks - month. I'd especially like feedback on the Mobo and PSU choice, and maybe some alternative options for cooling. Build (PCPartPicker Link): CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Motherboard: MSI Mag B550 Tomahawk Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 2 x 16GB DDR4-3200 (Transferred from previous build) Storage: 2 x 1TB Samsung Evo Plus M.2 GPU: Gigabyte Windforce OC 3X(fans) RTX 2070 Super (Transferred from previous build) Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus 650 Gold Case Fans: 6 x Noctua P12 redux-1700 PWM OS: Windows 10 Ideally I plan to transfer the Windows license from my previous build (not entirely certain that I can do this with the license that I bought), though I will purchase a new copy if I cannot
  4. Hello all. I recently found out that you can install a version of blender onto chromebooks. Blender is the thing that linus uses to render the car. I think it is quite interesting that a 2 thread machine can render stuff. To install it: Install the Linux vm in the chromebook settings. Then, open up the terminal/console, and type in "sudo apt install blender" Follow the prompts Pow! You have blender on a freakin chomebook!
