consoles scrub

If I use a 34 inch, 3440 x 1440, 21:9 monitor and choose to play 16:9 2560 x 1440 will it look the same as a normal 27 inch 1440p monitor. I understand that there will be black bars on the sides but i'm willing to live with that for the increase in fps.

I can get a Asus rog strix X570-F ATX Motherboard used from my friend and its in good condition but I wasn't sure if I should do it. If the motherboard is faulty can it damage my pc?

I am not really in the know when will the 3000 series be out roughly. Also the 2080 super is listed there.

I'm Australian and my budget is around $2000 usd. Gaming at most likely 1440 and doing work for uni/college

First ever pc and thinking this could be it. Any advice on the components used and or alternatives. Also I'm new to all this and even though I have done a lot of research I wouldn't mind changing anything. (and yes RGB because it increases fps).
