  1. What would you say about 750 watts PSU with my parts and a 2070? Asus say their 2070 wattage is 550, that's a lot more than my 390X needed...
  2. CPU is not always overclocked, I have multiple profiles I use depending on what I'm doing. But there is obviously no way my 390X could keep up, but when I need processing power I have had the CPU up to just under 4.5Ghz if I remember right. Can't remember the voltage though.
  3. It'll join the shelf of the dead, along with my Commodores and Atari devices and other things forgotten haha. And I need a new card asap, I use my PC for work and I've got to finish soon as I'm on holiday next week for a month. Can't afford delays, this is the worst timing possible. I've normally stuck with AMD but considering the prices at the moment I'd rather go with an RTX2070 but I've been out of the loop for a long time. Will that work fine with an 1800X? What would you say?
  4. Troubleshooting over, my GPU is officially dead. PC works fine on the spare card so shame to see my 390X has passed on, it will be missed.
  5. Old card, no warranty pal. I'm working on putting the spare card in now.
  6. Hiya, currently trying to work through the problem so may take a minute to reply! Short conclusion: Was playing Sekiro and my computer has been on for several hours. Sometimes when games or applications load up I'd get screen artifacts but it's not particularly unusual, my GPU has been doing it for a long while (at least a year) now and I have never had problems in games or applications. Only when loading and buffeting and I never managed to fix it. Now this time however, was playing and got into a loading screen and seconds later I got screen tearing and then dead monitor. Monitors are now permanently black, tried two and same result. Computer appears to boot up fine, but I have got a VGA error LED that remains lit so my fears are a dead card which is a pain. I've tried: -Safe boot -Unplugging all devices which are not necessary, extra drives, monitors, keyboard, mouse etc -Safe mode on GPU System below: OS - Win10 CPU - Ryzen 7 1800X GPU - R390X Mobo - Asus ROG Crosshair 7 Hero PSU - HX750i Drivers are all up to date including BIOS. This is not a heating issue, CPU is at 35-40 celcius and GPU last I checked was sitting at 70-75ish. Plenty airflow. Any ideas, tips, tricks please mention them and I'll do what I can.
  7. Look, very simple. I do not judge your setup any higher than mine except in price and I'd prefer keeping to my original plans at the moment. You're the only person who has confronted me against my plans and frankly I find your attitude rather rude and insulting. I'm going to ask you to leave my build and post alone otherwise there will end up being problems.
  8. As I said the gpu is overkill for me, waste of money. And I am buying Akasa and Coolermaster pressure fans for the case itself. It will create larger pressure inside the cage and help protect against dust.
  9. Right now my thought is my build will A. Be cheaper B. More cool C. More pressure Optimized and D. Quieter
  10. Not keen too much, might have the money to add the SSD though, shall see yup, and I think my current system will be more quiet.
  11. I'll pass, looking for a very quiet system and I think that's overkill on the GPU for me
  12. Nope, I aint moving to an AsRock board any time in these days and no point downgrading the power supply, barely any difference between the two. The SSD I am tempted but my current games take up a lot more space
  13. "Peripherals: Already got, message me if it's a must know."
  14. Yup, and I do want plenty room for future upgrades with a reliable power supply, the RM series is known for that and I think its orange goes nicely with arctic blue And as for price, I'm finding sites with only about a £20 difference..
  15. Location: UK Budget: £1000 Maximum Aim: A computer which is capable of staying very quiet but cool, efficient and reliable for Gaming, Multimedia editing and Recording. Monitors: Aiming for one 1920:1080p monitor but I want the option to upgrade to 2 monitors for the future Peripherals: Already got, message me if it's a must know. OS: Windows 7 Professional from Microsoft Why am I upgrading: I am currently sitting with an old Acer Predator Defender G7200 which has lasted me 3 years after firstly being refurbished. It is originating from 2007 and is getting old, loud and slow for my uses today. I have done months of research both primary and secondary and I have decided to build my first computer. I have previously done some modifications to builds for friends or my own computer but these were very small such as fan changing, case lighting and decorative uses. Set: What does this mean? What I expect my computer to be set for. I am expecting a fast, reliable and very efficient computer which will be holding the theme of mat and glossy black along with neon or Arctic Blue with a touch of Orange. Build - Case: Fractal Design R4 Black Pearl Windowed CPU: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition 4.0GHz GPU: Sapphire AMD R9 270X 2GB Vapor-x OC (Primarily trying to find a Sapphire AMD R9 280X 3GB Vapor-x Tri-x OC but not many in the UK) MOBO: Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance Blue PC3-12800C9 1600MHz CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i Power Supply: 750W Corsair RM Series Storage: Seagate 1TB Hybrid Drive 7200RPM - Parts I seek looking into twice would be the GPU, RAM and Storage. I am keen on an SSD if capable. Please share your own thoughts on this and perhaps some changes you might consider WITH reason, this is an expensive build which will be very important to me and I do not wish to receive advice from those without reason who would for example deem one brand over another without reason.
