    Not that I know of and i am from the US. Why avoid those two brands?

    Yea it is just up to him. He is in Gradschool and needs to run some stat program. So I was just trying to max what I could for the money.

    When you work in IT the question gets asked What Laptop should I buy. with a budget of around $1000 I think I found a laptop that fits the bill.
