  1. Hi everyone, I've a Gigabyte gtx 1080ti 11g OCI bought second handed, the card is around 2 years old at the moment and I'm playing at 1440p 144hz which makes the card get to 90 to 100% usage very often (on factory overclock) so the Temps get to target (max 84c) and the fan speed gets to 90% (on custom curve). Question is, should I replace the thermal paste? I read a review in which the card is supposed to be between 37c idle and 77c max temp
  2. Update that didn't work either, I found out that the boot is now configured for dual boot, so not even the old one alone will boot :s
  3. Like Captain Kirk said : Oh my!
  4. Hi everyone, I've an unique problem that I'd like to discuss. Today I bought a larger ssd and I tought I could clone the last one to avoid re installing windows, it didn't work and I had problems to install the fresh copy of the OS in the new ssd, I finally managed to solved it by plugging the old one and formating my new ssd from the os to gpt, it all worked fine, started to work in the os until I was done. So I turned off the system, umplugged the old one and tought I was done, when it turned on it didn't boot and showed the error mbr error 1. I tried the following : umplugged everything but the ssd, start up repair from the windows tool. I plugged the old one back in and set the order like this : 1st windows boot manager, 2nd the new ssd and it works. Can I repair the boot so I can unplug the old ssd which now is not nescesary? Or I'm done. Thank you!
  5. BTW also I do know that the 2700x is more power hungry than the 3600
  6. Thanks a bunch, it would seem like Asus likes to use extra 'juice' regarding V core, anyway since auto is 1.45 to 1.5, having an all core OC for 1.42 should be better, right?
  7. I've an Asus strix x 470 f, with a bios that came when the 3000 cpus were released, do you think it was addressed?
  8. My bios had pbo set as default, it was on 4.125mhz but the voltages were crazy 1.45 to 1.5, although AMD says it's ok I'd prefer an stable, bit lower voltage.
  9. Hi everyone, after reading and watching everything I could on this subject I'm still confused, so here's my question. Is it better for the performance of the 2700x to be all core OC, PBO or just leave it all stock? I've a 4.1ghz 1.43v manual OC, but I've read some people believe it's better to let xfr2 do it's thing. I use it mainly for gaming on a stock cooler. Thanks!
  10. I was reading that T topology works better with all 4 slots than Daisy, but it's kinda crazy, so I was wondering if you have tried.
  11. That's great! Good thing is I'm getting the expected performance in the build, so I did it mostly because a friend talked me into it hahaha, but once you discoverer is a common practice that improves your overall experience, it's annoying knowing it won't be possible in your case.
  12. Wow that's an amazing reply thank you so much, thing is I upgraded recently and the last time I build a rig was a ddr3 Asus maximus hero, back then ram wasn't this complicated hahaha, I also bought this 16gb ram stick by mistake when making the order (I usually go myself to the store, but because of the pandemic I had to order and here we are). All things considered I guess I'm rather lucky since the ram is running fine (3200hz on 1.35 auto and 20 22 22) and the system is doing pretty nice. I guess I'll go old school and just upgrade the cpu from my 2700x to a 3700 or higher. Thanks a lot!
