  1. Thanks for your feedback on the headphones I mentioned and the suggestions, did you ever play games with an amp ? I never had one so I don't know how that sounds like.
  2. Hi, My name is Joseph and I am thirty year old guy from Malta. This my first post on linustechtips, I have seen tons of Linus Videos and love to hear the detailed reviews and guides. I am a desperate person looking for the best sound quality while I am gaming. I have a lot options for my gaming sound needs but I feel very confused and have no clue were to start. So below you will find a summarized story of what I think of sound and my experience. Past: Back in the good old days I use to own a [Creative sound card] and [Razer Piranha], I use to play call of duty 2 professionally and the sound was the best, I could hear people's paces from the other side of the map. And that is what I am looking for, crisp sound, hearing the bullet path, hearing someone reload their gun. What can else can I say ... I person who pays attention to detail. Past and Present: As my last gaming headphones I purchased Steel Series Arctis 7 (Wired), because I saw a lot of reviews saying that its suppose to be the best overall headphones for gaming, but the sound quality and comfort were the most disappointing thing, there is nothing special about the headphones sound quality, and the as for the comfort the foam gets really dirty (since I have oily hair) and have to wash the foam all the time, and my ears feel too warm and sweaty after one hours of gaming. I think that nowadays there is a lot of marketing ads saying and tons of lies saying that the product will deliver the best of everything, but in reality your getting plastic shitty headphones. Now I recently purchased the Sony WH1000MX3 so that I can use them for work and travelling. I found these headphones to be life changing, their noise cancelling is the best and as for the sound quality its premium. I wish i could use them for gaming too since they are expensive, but at least I am very happy with what Sony delivered with this product. **The microphone of the Sony as mentioned below is garbage. Current Situation: Yesterday I have purchased the Blue Mic Yeti USB Microphone from the Argos UK, it should arrive in Malta next week. I wanted to best microphone for my gaming needs, since all the headphones microphone I had in the past always had problems or they sound really bad. Now I am on the hunt again for the best headphone sound for my never ending demanding ears . I have very little knowledge when it comes down to sound. I can tell when something is very good but I cannot say which products really deliver the sound I am looking for. Hence why I am asking for help. Option 1: Try everything I can with my Sony headphones to get the best gaming sound,(since I am happy with them and spent a lot of money on them) such as purchasing a sound card to connect it with. Since some posts I have read said that sound from the on board its just crap. Or maybe purchase a Creative BT-W2 Portable Bluetooth Audio Transceiver with aptX, I don't know what is best here. Option 2: Forget the Sony and spend insanely more money on Audio-Technica ATH-M40 X and Sennheiser GSX 1000 Gaming Audio Amplifier, to get the best sound I am looking for. Again no clue if this is the best option. Option 3: Forget 1 and 2 just purchase a good reviewd gaming Headphone such as Hyper X, and hope for the best (like what I did with with the Arctis 7). What does Linus Experts recommend ? Also, can you kindly get some feedback from a person who has tried both Option 1 and 2 that would be superb.
