  1. But in that instance wouldn't I still be able to post with the functional, 8gb stick? I've tried both individually, in both slot 2 and 4, but I can't post with either. Only when they're both inserted I can post. Also I don't actually get a BIOS startup error, saying no ram detected, when they're both out; just same no post no output weirdness. Is this something Specific to AMD chips or is it just being glitchy? Thank you.
  2. Hello all, I've recently run into a problem, which I will try to explain short and sweet; After enabling XMP in my BIOS on the MSI Bazooka b450m v2, I got locked out of my bios. I also couldn't reset the bios through the clear CMOS jumper or taking out the physical CMOS battery. I resolved this problem by buying a MSI b450 Carbon Gaming Pro (A/C), as well as a new power supply and everything worked, computer posted, problem solved, right? Well, after everything was said and done, I launched a game and everything ran fine. After about an hour, I realized I never enabled XMP, so I attempted to enable, and got the exact same problem as with the Bazooka Mobo; No post, fans run at max speed, no output to display, and it is indefinite, meaning it wont reboot itself and try to post again. After clearing the CMOS (which worked this time), computer posts and I launch the same game and get a warning that I apparently have "less than 10 GB of ram installed," Windows says I have 8gb of ram installed. I checked HardwareInfo and it recognizes both sticks and claims I have 16gb in dual channel. I did all the basic troubleshooting, such as reseating ram, but when I tried with one stick of ram to see if I have a faulty stick, the pc doesn't post. I tried both sticks individually in slot 2 and 4. I know that I had 16gb before attempting to enable XMP because I didn't get the warning message on the initial game launch. I'm at a loss and think I need to get new ram, but would like second opinions or maybe someone has actually encountered this issue before. Thanks, Here;s the images
