  1. Yeah, I was hoping to have the gamecube on the desk and the gpu fastened to the bottom of the desk so it's not seen but if I can't use it then that's a bit of a downer. I don't really want to use an igpu because it would be worse performance than I am getting now and I only really want one pc
  2. Thanks for the info. What if I use an e-gpu? Is that possible with this board?
  3. Budget: $500 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly watching YouTube and playing some games like BG3, WoW, Call of Duty, and Forza with a racing wheel Other details: Alright, so I am obsessed with putting a pc into a gamecube. I have seen some people do it and the size is for sure thé limiting factor. It seems that people are using the ASRock X300M-STX which I am fine with but I have a few questions about it that I am hoping some more tech minded people could help with. Is it possible to use an e-gpu with this motherboard? Will my Ryzen 5 2600x work in this board? Is the ram speed going to be too limiting? I Don't care about portability or anything so I am okay with having some cables come out the back to run to an e-gpu and I am okay with needing a USB hub but I am wondering if anyone can think of any other limiting factors that would make this a bad daily driver for someone who is used to a system with a R5 2600x, 16gb 3600 memory, and a 2080. Double monitors is a must for me to consider doing this Thank you!
  4. True. I've been using Gmail, Chrome, YouTube, Drive, Photos, Docs, etc. on my Android devices so heavily for so many years now I almost wonder if its even worth caring about at this point.
  5. In an ideal world neither but obviously that won't happen using either of those devices. At this point in my life I would rather tell the advertisers to butt out
  6. I don't know too much about how apple handles data I guess is part of my problem. I've heard things about them keeping things like health data encrypted on devices so even they cant see it and not selling data to advertisers, so to me that all sounds more appealing than the way google handles it. But what Apple is doing with the data they do collect is beyond me. Maybe I should be doing some more research on that.
  7. I have a pixel and am considering making changes in my life to have more privacy online. I am not super hardcore but I would like to tell google to get bent with how much they data they collect on me. Does getting an iPhone actually give me anymore privacy like it seems (provided I don't use google apps) or am I just trading one evil mega-corp for another?
  8. That's not what I had in mind but now that you mention it, that would totally work! Thank you friend.
  9. and how do I do it? anyone know of any good guide for whatever its called when I can set up a way for my wife to play the Sims on her laptop with my computer doing the hard work for hers?
  10. believe it or not I did but after trying again it's working now?? oh well! a win is a win haha thanks!
  11. I have a Asus 2080 strix and used to use MSI afterburner to keep my fans at 40% and ramp up based on temps but for some reason it stopped caring what afterburner it telling it to do. Now it has a mind of its own and any time its below 70 degrees the fans are basically off and anything above 70 is fully pinned fans trying to send my machine to orbit. Naturally that means they are constantly up and down when I play a game, it hits 70, goes wild, drops into the high 60's and is quiet for a few seconds and then it does it all over again. I have also tried an Asus program but I can't remember what it was called and it didn't work either. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone to give me to help keep my fans under control. If it helps I am using an O11D mini with 9 fans (3 top exhaust, 3 bottom intake, 2 "front" AIO intake, and 1 rear exhaust)
  12. So I built a computer for my aunt. It ran fine for a week and then suddenly no video. I tried everything I could. I asked around on the internet for solutions and tried all of those but none of them worked. Eventually it got the point where everyone recommended a new motherboard. Well I got the new one and still no video at all. Things I have tried: re seat ram re seat CPU re connect all PSU cables various HDMI/monitor combinations using a GPU turning it on out of the case new motherboard I have not heard any beeps, or seen any flashing lights, the fans don't run unusually. It just simply doesn't do anything. Gigabyte B450-I Aorus AMD Ryzen 2200G Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB WD Blue m.2 SATA SSD 1TB Corsair CX550M
  13. that would be annoying but totally fine. I just don't live near a computer store so I bought it all online and would have to submit an RMA, ship it, they'll probably test it and then send another one. Which again is okay I just didn't want to do that for every part until I found the one so I appreciate your feedback and am glad to see people are coming to similar conclusions.
  14. yeah, I have re-plugged all the cables and ram. I didn't check the CPU, I did make sure to line up the triangles and it did function well for a couple weeks so I didn't think it would be installed wrong. I also wasn't sure about removing the cooler because I don't have more thermal paste and wasn't sure I could put it back on without redoing it. I will have a look and see if its installed correctly though.
  15. right, I forgot to mention that I did those things as well.
