  1. No, changing the volume on the speakers doesn't change the hum. To be honest, I don't think it's the speakers on the monitor that are humming.
  2. I have my headphones plugged into the back mobo's jack connector, and the speakers of the monitors are lowered to 0.
  3. Hey guys, I wanted to ask for your opinion. I built myself a new pc recently, plugged in my old monitor via hdmi, and I keep hearing some light buzzing coming from the monitor. I don't think it's from the built-in speakers, and whenever I scroll a site ( for example 9gag ), the buzzing is on a lower level at the top of the page, and when I scoll a little bit down, the humming gets a little bit louder. Any idea what might be the problem?
  4. Right now I have i5-4570 3,2GHz Kingston 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Beast X Predator Series XMP ASUS Z87-C soc.1150 ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 2GB/256-bit, GDDR5, 2xDVI ADATA 128GB SSD SX910 Series SATA 3 6Gb/s, WD Green 3,5" HDD 1,0TB 5400RPM 64MB SATA 6Gb/s Planning to pass it on onto family members possibly, as I'm looking forward to "start fresh" without restrictions on 144hz
  5. Might be a good idea, however I'm a bit paranoid about stuff breaking, so that's why I wanted to have my drives separated for Windows, Games, and generall archive for photos and videos, in case one goes, I would still have the other two. I've looked at some 2TB m.2's, and found out there are different ones when it comes to read speed. One claims to have about 560MB/s [ WD ], while the other has 1800MB/s [ Intel 660p ]. I've been wondering, if its safe/smart/logical to use one drive for everything.
  6. Well, right now, I'm at about 2100€ and that's about the budget, still have about 100€ left in case something needs to be changed for a more compatibile HW. this is my current wishlist : PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $493.89 @ B&H CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard Gigabyte Z390 GAMING SLI ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $245.63 @ Amazon Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $149.99 @ Best Buy Storage Western Digital Green 120 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $27.46 @ Amazon Storage ADATA Ultimate SU650 480 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $64.01 @ Amazon Storage Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive $69.48 @ Amazon Video Card Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB WINDFORCE OC 3X Video Card Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA G1+ 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $116.98 @ Newegg Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit $99.99 @ Amazon Monitor Asus VG279Q 27.0" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor $310.99 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1598.42 Mail-in rebates -$20.00 Total $1578.42 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-12-30 14:39 EST-0500
  7. Hey guys. I decided to register here to ask for your advice. Thing is, I managed to build myself a pc about 5 years ago, was gaming on it since. With the funeral of Win 7 around the corner, I've decided to build myself a new one, one that will let me game and perhaps even stream and do all the stuff I couldn't on this one, and be relevant for years to come. I'm not exactly educated when it comes to pc parts and hardware in general, so please explain stuff so even I can understand it. I was looking for getting: i9-9900k, with the noctua NH-D15 cooler 32gigs of ram DDR4 - no idea about speeds :/ Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super 8G 750W PSU 2 ssd's ( one for OS [ 120Gb ], other for games [480Gb]), and a 2TB HDD ( for ... something ... ?) also getting a new monitor for 1080p 144hz gaming - 27" ASUS VG279Q Thing is, I have no idea how to pair all the components together, to get the best result. Also, I'm a total noob when it comes to overclocking, and I would probably try to avoid it. If you'd like to help me make up my mind and teach me something, I'd appreciate it. And of course, happy new year! ?
