Hello! an acquaintance of mine is selling their pc, I do have one but theirs is quite a bit better, plus my gf is moving in with me soon and this would be the perfect opportunity for me to get a 2nd pc so we have 2 pc's in our home office. I just am not really sure on the price of all these things. Now I did do some googling and mostly checked Ebay, sorted on Sold items and checked the parts that they have to see what kind of prices they are selling for used. however there is another challenge which is that I am located in The Netherlands, so Ebay prices are off for some items compared to here. even if I look up some items new here they are cheaper than what they have sold for on Ebay. I think most prices probably line up pretty well but maybe there are people who are a bit more in tune with the pc builder world and parts than I am, and maybe you guys have some ideas about what rough prices would be. I understand that it's a bit harder for a very clear number, so that's not what I'm asking. just a rough idea, should i be thinking around 1000-1500, lower? Higher? I just don't know so here I am. Here are the parts, and yes he wants to sell it as 1 big package, including the peripherals, which for me honestly isn't that bad because like I said I want a 2nd setup in my household anyway, if I can get it for a sweet price that is. Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB M.2 SSD Samsung 970 EVO plus 2TB M.2 SSD EVGA SuperNova 750 G3 750W 2x G.skill DDR4 Trident-Z 16GB 3200mhz CL16 RGB AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor Asus TUF Gaming X570 plus(WI-FI) mobo Samsung LU28H750UQUXEN 28” 4K monitor Noctua NH-D15S Logitech G502X mouse Corsair keyboard NZXT H500i black/red midi tower Asus ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti P.S. It has not been mined on or anything, i know this person quite well and I am like pretty dang sure that they did not get into that. but has been gamed on for quite a few years. Thanks!

thanks for the suggestions! i will definitely look into these options!
-
O that looks good! Yea mine is like 2,30m long, but it will be for 2 people. And the one you have fits well on a 60cm depth? Do you still know which one it is by chance?
-
Well we miscalculated the depth of my old desk as I said but this is custom and I want to try to make it work before I rip this out and put a deeper one in. But that is an option if all else fails

Hello everyone! I just moved into a new apartment which has an extra room so I'm moving my pc setup which was in the living room, into this gaming room. I made my own desk along one of the walls, however it is a little more shallow than my last desk because the new "entertainment" room isn't that big. So my 2 monitors need to be on some Vesa mount arm preferably attached to the wall. I have looked around but it's very hard for me to locate one that is either very short or adjustable. For reference the desk is 60cm deep and I have added a pic of my monitors as they stand right now, please forgive the mess we litterally moved in yesterday. Looking at the pics my whole issue is one monitor hangs over the corner of the desk which is a doorway. Or moves too much to the other side of the desk which will be my partners setup If anyone has a recommendation for shallow monitor arms or that can adjust in depth it would be a great help thanks everyone!

first thing i will do is get a new GPU, because out of different places and different people say that that will bring a bigger boost to anything then a new cpu will ever do right now. after that i will just save up money for a complete platform upgrade, wether that be kaby lake or zen, i dont know yet, never had any amd hardware but we will see, thanks for your answers anyway guys, its been really helpful
-
this is true i guess, the never ending new new in pc stuff
-
both of you make very good arguments, and i have never overclocked anything in my life before, but hearing more and more about 4790(k) and kaby lake and if i should wait or not, and the resell value of what i currently have if i make the jump just got me thinking that waiting for kaby lake sounds better to me, being on the newest platform would just feel a lot better to me too, and i know that might sound a bit silly. i might go for a gtx 1070 now and then save up for kaby lake, i have only been recently thinnking about switching cpu's or anything in my system really and this thread was just to come up with some ideas. i think kaby lake sounds better to me
-
i have 4460 cpu and i haven't seen a 4790 below like 270(used) anywhere around here so i dont know, the 4790 seemed like a really good option but i dont know anymore with kaby lake being kinda close it might be better to wait it out, i will have the latest cpu hardware and i would be able to get a 1070 pretty much now
-
thinking about it, waiting for kaby lake sounds more preferable to me, it might be based on the same as skylake is but it would mean that i have the newer hardware and there will certainly be new features that will improve my overall experience. yes i lack that boost in performance on the cpu side now, but all im hearing its only a small boost if i go to a 4790(k) right now, which might be the same when i switch to kaby lake but included in that will be some new features that may make the whole experience a bit better. that shifts my thoughts to upgrading the GPU now while setting aside the money in the coming 3 months for a kaby lake system when it drops.
-
yea your argument ruled out the 4790 thought out of my mind completely man. but since im hearing more and more people saying that my 970 could be the problem, it might be worth it to get the 1070 now already since that seems to be a considerable boost in power Edit: now im confused about kaby lake again. lol
-
man im so confused just because i saw that as a reliable source of info, thanks for clearing it up though, so the 970 would be the thing that keeps me back if anything at all?
-
hmm, you actually might be right man, just preparing for kaby lake now and just dealing with it untill then would be the better option i guess. investing in a 1070 at this time might be the better option if i want an upgrade, sell the 970 and get a 1070 since that difference in performance is probably bigger and the 1070 wont be outplayed by a new gpu that soon( im talking about new series not like 1080 or titan)
-
yea i kind of do want an upgrade short term, since i just have the feeling my spec is holding me back in some cases(this might not actually be the case, but it feels like that) but a 4790(k) would be a better solution short term then a platform upgrade if the platform upgrade doesnt give that big of noticable difference as was told to me before

uh so when on sites like that the game recommends another cpu which makes the site say that mine is below that, it isnt correct? because it did that with mafia 3. it said that my current cpu is lower then the recommended, but my 970 does pass the recomended spec. so you are saying these tests are not reliable? because i dont know any other way to test it myself then, plus in mafia 3 my cpu is at a constant 90+ % utilisation(checked with taskmanager) while my 970 is fine in that stage, if mafia 3 is poorly optimised then ok thats a reason, but that site i was talking about does say my cpu is lower then recommended for more titles that i have thought about getting, causing me to buy some titles on my ps4 because i dont want to play a laggy game on pc even though i prefer pc 100%. so you are saying that this information was wrong all that time? do you have any other option to check my pc specs rather easily for someone that is not that well known with the latest good spec? because reading the recomended spec for a game or using a site like canyourunit.com is basically the same but the site just does it auto for you.( at least i thought this was the case) thanks for all the answers man! i am interested in all the pc specs and newest stuff, i watch multiple tech youtubers, but i just dont know what the next upgrade step would be for me personally i lack that understanding i guess, so thanks! Edit: had another question, i saw 4790 v 4790k on some sites and the base clock on the 4790k seemed to be faster, does this mean it would be worth it to get the 4790k even though my current mobo doesnt support OC?
