  1. I'm not exactly sure what a normal boost would look like; should they all be going to 3.9?
  2. I understand that part, but the ryzen 5 2600 should easily be able to do 200-300 fps in CS:GO, whereas I am only getting ~100.
  3. If that's how it came from the factory, I wouldn't worry about it unless you start getting unreasonable temperatures.
  4. if you haven't tried yet, use DDU and then reinstall drivers.
  5. Hey guys, Just recently got my hands on an MSI gtx 1080 seahawk (liquid cooled) with a noctua pwm fan. I just keep the fan pinned at 100% since i don't mind the noise, and so the card stays at around 33 C idle, and gets up to around 50 C under a sustained MSI Kombustor load. I did a little bit of manual overclocking, and got +175 on core with +300 on memory, with the power limit and voltage slider all the way to the right (using MSI afterburner). The GPU seems to benchmark around what is normal for most benchmarking tools that I have used (except for G2D Mark, where it seemed to score unusually low). You would think this would be pretty great for gaming, right? I thought so, too. problem is, it don't. Even after several runs of DDU, fps in CS:GO is just ok - generally runs about 100 fps, with some lag spikes. While it certainly isn't unplayable, it's far less than what I expect. The only problem that I can tell is that the GPU doesn't boost like it should - in game, it generally stays put at around 1600-1700 MHz at 30 C, whereas in Kombustor, Under full load at 50 C, it boosts fairly consistently at ~2100 MHz. Any suggestions as to how to fix the FPS problem? For those wondering, the frame rate is definitely not capped; I occasionally get spikes up into the 200's while playing. The only other game that I have tried is doom 2016, which gave me around 130 fps at 1080p ultra with the opengl api, which seems to be about normal, and the GPU boosts at a rock solid 2150 MHz while in game at around 40 C. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 w/ wraith prism cooler, runs 50-60C under gaming load (not overclocked) RAM: 2x8gb corsair vengance 3200 CL16, overclocked to 3466 MOBO: Asrock x470 master SLI/AC GPU: MSI GTX 1080 seahawk Power Supply: seasonic 500 watt 80+ bronze the PC is on an open air test bench, and I am running 2 monitors - one 1080p 75hz, one 1080p 144hz, both connected to the 1080. I use the 144hz monitor for gaming, and the 75hz for monitoring software/chrome tab.
  6. Hey y'all, just wondering if anyone has any suggested fixes for a lower than expected cs:go fps. After I upgraded to a GTX 1080, I was expecting around 300fps average while in game at 1080p low, but in reality it hovers around 150 fps. Not bad, but Im really confused as to the cause. The only benchmark I've run is unigine heaven, which gave me a ~110 fps average on Max 1080p, which seems about right if a little low. System specs: Ryzen 5 2600 w/ stock cooler Gigabyte GTX 1080 g1 gaming ASRock x470 sli/ac 2x8gb Corsair vengeance 3200 OC'd to 3400 mhz Fps in Overwatch seems to be about correct based on YouTube benchmarks that I've watched (the only other popular game I own to benchmark with). Fixes I've attempted: -run DDU and reinstall driver and change settings (best performance instead of optimal power etc.) -Flashed vbios I bought the card used if that makes a difference.
